Wish first horn battle with the Dream

So just my opinion. This is the second video I heard of the horns. The first one was when it was still at Meyer Werft. After hearing this video I still believe that the Wish horns are not as good as the other ships. They are adding way to many horns especially at the end of the songs and it makes it sound like someone playing a bad pipe organ version of the songs.

Yeah, I am definitely not impressed by the Wish horns.. It sounds muddled. Imagine these organ sounds bouncing off the mountains in an island port.

Unless something is broken and they can fix it between more and the MV

Love the idea of adding the harmonies/chords, but, I agree, it's out of tune and sounds like a mistake a kid made on his mom's organ. Nice try, though. I expect it will be fine tuned once they get reviews from passengers and crew (and guest performers) who actually have good musical ears.

When chords are played with too low notes, they sound "muddy", as they do in the video. This is why a bassist usually plays arpeggios (notes from the chord played separately) instead of chords.

The Wish crew needs to consult a good bassist for a proper bassline instead of the piano player.

I hope so. Her horns sound terrible.

The Wish horns sounded great when leaving the shipyard. They sound out of tune now.

I think it’s a matter of perspective and where the person is recording from and how good their equipment is. You can see on Youtube now several videos of this horn battle, shot from the Dream and it sounds different in each. (There’s also a video of them doing the Star Wars horn as well!) From everyone I’ve heard from who’s heard it in person, most say they like it a lot. Several people heard it when it arrived at PC this morning and they seemed to like it as well. I would say stand by, as all the early pre release info for better quality video and audio, and more especially when you hear it for yourselves. I was so tempted to watch it arrive today too, almost changed our beach trip from Gulf Shores to Coco Beach or something to be near but we only have about a month till our cruise and I’m excited by what I‘ve seen and heard so far. There’s lots we haven’t been witness yet, but i like where it’s heading!

I was there on Dream for the horn battle. It was terrible. Most of the Wish's 'volleys' were unrecognizable. After a bit, these of us up on deck 13 were looking at each other like "really?". Even the CMs were disappointed. Everyone flocked to the port side as we approached castaway cay & saw Wish in the distance. Passengers & CMs alike were excited and taking pictures. The horn "battle" was a letdown to say the least. Very cool to see her - she looks huge with her fwd superstructure stacked with concierge cabins.

Thank you for providing first hand accounts. Well dang then. I thought they sounded different but still kinda cool. With that and what we are hearing other stuff not working out on the transatlantic cruise, seriously hoping they pull it together. Get someone to take those horns and get them sounding like magic. I’m totally ok with the medleys sounding different, but I’m sure we all want them to sound good too. We’ll see I guess.

I watched her sail out of PC this afternoon, the horns definitely sounded.....off. They really didn't sound very good at all.

First time I heard the Wish’s horn was it’s bad compared to the older ships, sounds more like a calliope and not a ships horn. I then played the video for the wife and her response, ‘that’s horrible’.
