Wish - Finally giving it a go

we enjoy the Disney nostalgia,
There's plenty of that on Wish
the service,
Still astounding
the fun things to do.
Saddening that it's the same for the non-kid passengers
We love Remy and that DCL has high end wine and champagne.
Boom. Enchante is different; think Versailles as opposed to Remy's Paris. Wonderful though. they've added a "no proof" cocktail pairing that I did 2 weeks ago. Highly recommended for the non-drinkers in your party
Palo is ok - but we miss the old brunch.
Us too. A lot.
We like that the adult areas are large and kid-free. That is really my biggest concern with the Triton class ships.
The adult area is actually very huge. Most people just think of the very stern of the ship by the pool but it actually wraps around all the way to nearly midships on the starboard side. The pool is small, but it's not much (if at all) smaller than the pool on the Magic class and maybe the same as the Dream? Not sure. Eyeballing here
Our daughter is studying interior design, and we would really like to see the interiors on the Wish, but everything else doesn't sound very appealing.
no feedback
(Even down to the TV in the stateroom not being on a swivel arm. The lack of a running track is awful).
That does kind of suck for the runners in the party.
We tried Celebrity on their newest ship in their version of concierge. IT WAS AMAZING - but we were totally bored. The on-board activities did not appeal to us, there is no decent wine to be found by the glass and forget about champagne.
Yeah, we tried Celebrity and were underwhelmed. Significantly.

In the end, it's about preferences. Some people like chocolate, some like vanilla. Both are good, but some like one over the other. I hope your cruise is magical no matter your preference!

If you go in looking for validation for disliking it, I'm sure you will find things, since it is very different and some of the choices made were not great. I actually kind of like that the bars are more spread out but I know many do not. You can't easily walk from one end of the ship to another on many of the decks (IIRC) so that also took some getting used to. With as many cruises as you've been on, I'm sure you know the other ships like the back of your hand, so I expect this will be your biggest pain point since it is soooo different in terms of layout/navigation.

But, we really enjoyed our cruise. And if concierge is an option for you, I definitely recommend it on the Wish. The lounge is much bigger than other ships and has its own hot food menu as well as an exclusive room service menu.

Oh and I definitely recommend Enchante for dinner! We are vegetarian and had a phenomenal meal there. If you truly hate dinner shows, you could use that to avoid one of them. I personally thought Arendelle was fun but didn't enjoy Marvel so much (others of course will have different opinions). Having concierge would also make it easier for you to control which restaurant you miss.

I would go into it as a research mission. How many of the things that people complain about actually end up mattering to you, vs how many end up not being a big deal? Can you find things you *do* like, even if overall it ends up being your 5th favorite ship?

I’ve sailed on all four ships multiple times. Not as many times as you (I was at a lowly 18 😂 before the Wish) but enough that I love the nautical theme and the vibes on the original four.

The Wish came in at a solid #4 for me, above the Dream and below the other three. I had read every review going and ended up going in with an open mind and had a great time!

My biggest complaints were:
- Tables too close together at dinner
- Lack of shade in adult area
- Lack of drawers in the staterooms
- Mickey’s Mainsail is too small

However I loved the food (best food IMO), the bars (all absolutely stunning), Victrophonics, Brian the adult host, the pool deck as a whole except the lack of shade, the fact that the ship is so beautiful.

I will say that the first day I was like no, I want my nautical theme back but by day three I really enjoyed the new theming.

We sailed a 4-day on the Wish in January of 2023 and went in prepared to dislike it (we sailed on her because friends wanted us to go with them). We ended up liking a few things better than the other ships: the shows (impressive staging with lots of technology and immersive elements), the way that the lounges are spread out over the ship rather than concentrated in one area, the Rose (views when sailing away are fantastic), beignets in the Bayou and coffee early in the morning. We expected to hate the show in Arendelle but thought it was extremely well done (especially the violinist who was superb) and was fun. We like the way that 1923 is broken up into smaller rooms. I like how Marvel is broken up into smaller rooms, and the first time was a bit fun, but DH hates it, along with the menu. I like the menus for Arendelle and 1923 much better than the menus on the Fantasy. Palo service was stellar, and the food was good, but I prefer the more Italian-themed versions on the other ships.

I hated that the TV doesn't swivel, but it is much larger than that on the Fantasy. The storage in the cabins isn't nearly as good - where are all the drawers? I basically had to throw all of my clothes onto a shelf in the closet - at least put a pull-out basket in it. You practically have to put your head into the shelf to find anything that's moved to the back of the shelf. The adult-only area was so sad. While the infinity part of the pool and the views are great, there's hardly any space, and the wind is extreme even on relatively calm days. The Cove Cafe feels tight, and I feel I have to whisper, or everyone will overhear my conversation. The hot tub is an afterthought around the corner, and you have to listen to the Aquamouse dialogue repeatedly. I can't decide if I prefer the Aquamouse over the Aquaduck or not. Pros and cons to both. I got so tired of watching the same cartoon over and over on the Aquamouse but it goes faster than the Aquaduck and comes back up to the top so you can ride it over and over again (if they let you when it's not busy) without having to climb up the stairs.

We've sailed twice more on her (just came back on Monday from the most recent one) and she has grown on us a bit but there are still some drawbacks. But the other ships have drawbacks too so I wouldn't say I don't like her at all. My biggest concern for the Treasure (which we will eventually sail on) is the adult-only area, specifically the pool and Cove Cafe. It's not a big deal for a 3 or 4 day cruise since there's lots of other things to do but we typically spend more time there on a 7 day.
