Why is All Star Sports so cheap?

We are traveling March 25-31st and have never stayed at a Disney value resort before. I’m trying to figure out why all star sports is so inexpensive even compared to music and movies? We typically stay at a two bedroom condo at Wyndham bonnet creek or a deluxe Disney resort. Unfortunately inflation and spring break prices are like a kick between the legs. It wasn’t that long ago we could swing six day park tickets and seven nights at a deluxe resort. Now we are hoping for just two park days, a water park, and six nights.

So like- is the pool bad? Is the food court lackluster? Are the grounds rundown? Are the rooms uncomfortable? Is it like the worst place for transportation? 🤔
We’ve stayed at all three levels of Disney resorts and never had a bad stay, I just think it has a lot to do with how much time you spend at your resort. We’re older and don’t spend as much time in the park as we used to so the resort is a big thing to us, just personal preference

Sports is our go to ALL THE TIME. Actually we have not run into sports teams taking over the place....like ever? I do remember being in touchdown and a lot of kids playing on the "field" but that's about it.....

Sports is a better layout than another (is it Music that is just all in a line front to back?) hotel, AND it's the closest out of the three All Stars to the rest of the parks....

I think the most noise we have had are elephants above us, but that's an "every resort with multiple floors" thing.....

After staying at other resorts, I needed a cheap room for a last minute solo trip and All-Star Sports was it. I enjoyed it so much then its our go to resort when trying to save money.

The main pool is nice, food has been good. Laundry has had open washers/dryers when I needed them. grounds are nice. And its no more noisy than other resorts, including the other all stars.

I don't know why its usually cheaper. I found no difference between staying at All Star Sports compared to All Star Movies. I haven't stayed at Music yet.

If you're concerned about noise, request Touchdown 7 (7111-7120) or 10 (0144-0133), facing the green space, or Surfs Up 1 (1121-1132) or Hoops 2 (2144-2133 or 2145-2154) facing green space. They've always been quiet for me, even when cheer groups were on property. We stayed Touchdown 7 (7108-7110) when a cheer group was there, we had some noise and kids in the common area out side our room until about 10pm.

HAHAHAHAH Well, we always go in September, and know that pop warner is in the beginning of December......and always aim to avoid....

I would say I don't keep an eye on UCA/UDA calendars, but I generally stay away from any time that school is dormant :)

Just a FYI, Disney World no longer hosts PW,so early December is cool.

We are booked for Movies in early May and knew it was during cheer season. Sports was cheaper than Movies so I asked my TA about moving. She said that while the teams would stay at all 3 AllStars, they "reserved" turf time at Sports for their cheering practice and the two turf fields (baseball and football sections, maybe?) would be occupied by practicing cheering squads all day and until about 10pm. We decided to keep the reservation at Movies.

Sports also has the advantage of being a relatively short walk to the McDonals if you need a break from food court fare.
