As things change - LLMP, LLSP, VQ changes, new rides, refurbs, etc - which planning website (besides WDW) should be my "go to". I want to make sure that as I am planning that I am referencing the most up to date information. Who is keeping up with all of the changes the best?

Dedicate Mammoth Club member here !
Search Mammoth Club on YouTube. Videos are superior to all other vloggers. She (Molly) has a spectacular video on LLMP, then follow up videos on LLMP as a resort guest vs non resort guest, and in each of the parks. They stay up to date with changes and all recent videos are relevant.

I truly get all of my Parks news right here on the DIS. I read the sidebar on the homepage that highlights articles related to news & updates like it's the daily paper. Anything that needs more information -- discussion, tips, tricks, opinions, POVs, etc -- will be nearly immediately given a dedicated discussion thread here on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board where people will share firsthand experiences & more information as soon as it becomes available.

Used to like DFB for these types of updates as well but have found that they are less than helpful lately, sometimes they'll share "updates" that are maybe not 100% factual or necessary to share (I.E., they posted several articles at the beginning of the year with headlines like "WE HAVE NEWS! MNSSHP MAY BE ANNOUNCED SOON!" and the body of the article will reference a casting call that went out for performers, which doesn't actually tell us anything about when the party will be announced. Just very click-baity and not really relevant or important for a guest to know). Often times they'll still be the first to review new food and spot new merchandise, just be aware that they aren't always the most reliable source online anymore.

Disneytouristblog is great. Also, DISboards. Sometimes I go to wdwnt and all ears. Mr. Marrow, Mammoth and allears are all good, but I prefer reading information. I want to imagine myself doing it. I weirdly like watching walk thru vlogs, or resort room vlogs and my favorite food people are themeparkfoodies. Part of my issue with a lot of the LLMP/SP videos is it is typically one person doing the plan. We will be party of eight. I am not sure a party of "one"'s experience and ability to get rides will translate to a party of eight.

Just to clarify and confirm, your chances as a party of 8, are exactly the same as a party of 1. In fact when using LLMP, you see the ride and available time BEFORE you even select your party members.
Source: Mammoth Club (if you watch her latest using using LLMP at MK as non resort guest she shows how this works in real time)

I have watched Molly's LLMP other videos but not the non resort guest MK one. Figuring out how to book LLMP/SP before the trip has been my main concern in understanding. We are onsite, multiple different tickets/AP/split stay, everyone has different priorities, elderly who don't want to ride anything fast etc. So it will be fun lol. It is good to know we will have the same chances as a party of 1. How Disney manages that is crazy! I mean 1 v 8 or even 2 v 12 booking a ride is a big difference in terms of ride capacity.

OP: the other website I have looked at is thrill-data. At this point I am sure I am way over thinking everything lol.

We have a slightly similar planning party, and from what I can gather this is the best strategy….

Book your whole party on the most popular rides at 7 am, then after the rush, you can modify those in your party who don’t want to ride certain attractions. For example if the highest ticket ride at HS is slinky dog book your whole party of 8, on SD and pick 2 other attractions. Once you’ve completed all your selections for the parks, go back in and modify whoever doesn’t want to ride slinky or whatever to something else around the same time.

Disney Tourist Blog is the best written content.
Thanks for the suggestion. I know Disneyland very well and am planning a WDW trip (first time in 15+ years). I read through his Disneyland tips to get an idea of the details and accuracy of his blogs. Most of the Disneyland info is out of date (ex. advice for Pacific Wharf instead of San Fransokyo, which opened over a year ago). Do you find the WDW info to be up to date?

Extremely accurate and up to date. They are Florida locals, IIRC, so it doesn't surprise me that Disneyland is less up to date while Disney World always is.

This is my main problem with Disney Tourist Blog. He doesn’t DATE his posts. So the information you’re seeing may have been accurate as of the publication of the blog post but has since become outdated. Disney Food Blog is the same way with their website. I actually said something about it once, and their solution was to look at the URL. Not easy on a phone, and if the date was there, I couldn’t see it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I tend to just use Google and look for dated posts about whatever it is I’m looking for. I also like Mammoth Club for videos, but I like written information.
