Which Luau - Spirit of Aloha or Wantilan?

I am trying to decide which luau to go to - Spirit of Aloha at Disney's Polynesian Resort or Wantilan Luau at Universal's Royal Pacific Resort.

The reviews I have read about Spirit of Aloha make it seem like it is not an authentic luau. I have not read any reviews on the Wantilan Luau.

Has anyone gone to both luaus? If so, which one did you prefer?

If you have only gone to one, which one did you go to and did you enjoy it?

Thanks

This doesn't answer your question but last month we went to the Makahiki Luau at Sea World. We got a great discount through mousesavers ($8 off per person).

We enjoyed the food and entertainment. Included in the Luau fee, we got free parking, and were allowed into the park at 5 and stayed until 10. During this time we rode Journey to Atlantis, saw many animal exhibits and stayed for Shamu Rocks and fireworks.

We felt that it was a great deal.

I didn't even know RPR had a luau!

Bumping to see if anyone has more info

I've done them both: RPR a few years ago and the Polynesian's about 9 years ago. I enjoyed them both but would vote for the RPR luau simply because you're staying at the RPR and won't need to worry about transportation. We're talking about doing the Wantilan again for our October trip.

Thank you!

We will have checked out of RPR prior to the day I was looking at going to a luau.

I ended booking the Wakahiki Luau at Sea World thanks to Rubbertops post.

Let us know if you like it. I haven't done that one.

I'm planning on booking the Wantilan Luau for our August trip. We did Seaworld, 13 years ago. Thought it was good at the time. :goodvibes Did the Poly one only a year later. The best part of that one was watching my then 4-year-old DD doing the hula, and watching the fireworks at Magic Kingdom from the beach. :cool1: DD will turn 18 this trip. Don't think she'll do a hula though.:rotfl: I am looking forward to it.:woohoo:I'll let you all know when we get back.
