Which car rental company best at MCO?

I was a loyal Dollar renter for years but my last two experiences have been bad. In the past, I was able to skip the long line in the terminal and go directly to the garage kiosk where sometimes my name was on the board and I could go directly to the car. Sometimes I had to wait at the kiosk for 10-15 minutes. Last March, I was able to go to the garage kiosk, but the rep was new and inexperienced. She was polite. But the process took way too long. In October had a terrible experience and won't use them again. In October, they were not using the garage kiosk. The line in the terminal was over an hour wait. When it was finally my turn, I gave the rep my reservation number and he said he found it. I had checked in on-line, declining insurance, pre-paid tolls and all other extras. After a few minutes, he had me swipe my cc. It was only as I was walking away that I noticed the price was much higher than my reservation. He had added insurance and pre-paid tolls. I pointed it out and he said I would have to wait while he helped the next customer. Another rep helped me. For these reasons, I am out (with Dollar).

We usually rent with Hertz but am going to change things up this time.

Does anyone know which company is closest to SouthWest? From Hertz we always have quite the walk.

I guess Enterprise is marginally closer, although I don't think that the 50 feet makes much of a difference when you're talking about the distance from the pod, into the terminal, down to 1, across the street. The difference is walking across the street, turning right and the kiosk being 20 feet away on that level, vs going up the escalator turning left and going 20 feet.

Thanks if I remember correctly Avis is right next to them as well.

I guess I’ll just stick with Hertz

If you're looking for comparable service to Hertz' Gold Canopy service, the only other option is National's Emerald Aisle if you've used them previously. Being able to choose any vehicle on the aisle is what keeps me using those two above the others.

Is National closer? Or just like 3 steps as well lol.

I have President’s Circle and second to top tier at National but Hertz generally has better rates.
