Myself, my wife and our twin 9 yr old girls will be vacationing at All Star Movies May 30- June 6. This is their first trip and my first time to stay at a value resort. They picked the resort cause they love Disney movies. I was just wondering if anyone had an honest opinion about where to ask to stay there. We have a preferred roo reservation and I was going to request the Fasntasia building with the big hat. Any suggestions on which floor and room would be best or does it matter?:confused3

From what I've been told, Disney won't grant/guarantee specific room requests (i.e., room 421) because someone else might already be staying there, so focus more on the view/location you would like (near/overlooking pool, near food court, etc.). I've also been told don't ask for more than 3 things and make your priority request your first request ie. fantasia building, etc. For places people recommend or say to avoid I'd say look in the FAQ thread.

We generally request a 3rd floor room facing a pool or courtyard. We've usually been granted our request. We had a parking lot view once and they were able to switch us the next day. We like the third floor view as it's not that noisy, yet you still get a good "Disney" view!!

With a preferred room, you should get Fantasia. Overall, the walkways at the All-stars keep most guests away from the guest rooms unless they happen to be in that building itself. Staying on the third floor avoids noises of kids running above you. Even if you face a pool, we have found the rooms very well insulated from outside sound.

The only buildings at ASMo I don't like are the Might Ducks as they're so far from the main building and I don't like the theming that well. Herbie is a little far as well, but I enjoy the walk to the main building through Fantasia.

The kids of course like Toy Story the best.

We'll be there in June! This will be our third stay at the All-stars. For our family of 5, we really enjoy it as we can get two rooms for less than a Deluxe and just a little more than a moderate. Two rooms comes in handy as the kids don't have to share a bed and we get two TV's, two bathrooms, etc.

We've stayed in all the different categories of hotels at Disney and when the entire family goes, we usually do the All-stars or Pop. We tried the Poly last time but it was just too hectic being in the same room.

Thanks KSDISNEYDAD

I was thinking about getting a third floor room for the reason you mentioned. Probably not quite as noisy as the first floor plus the view will be better. This is my twins first trip to Disney and I want to make it fun and enjoyable for them. We picked All Star Movies cause like all girls are at this age, they are die-hard disney movie fans! We are going to be ther the first week of June. Already paid for , just waiting on the time to leave!:cool1:  :yay: :cheer2:

We'll be at the AllStar Movies Resort during the exact same dates as you! We payed for a preferred room and are praying for a Toy Story room since that is the only reason we switched there from the Pop. Is there anyway I can persuade you not to request a room in that building?? I gotta' cut out the competition, ROFL! J/K :)

I just wanted to say have a great time, have fun and enjoy in your upcoming trip. Looking forward in hearing more from you.

Have a nice and safe trip coming. :)

We just came back from ASMovies. We had a preferred room in the Toy Story Section. (room 9707). It was on the first floor. Never heard a sound at night. We could see the food court from our room. It was a two minute walk to the food court and pool. It was about 3 or 4 minutes to the bus stops. I loved this location with my kids (DD8,DD6,DS3). Have a great time.

We enjoy the Toy Story section the best. In fact, I think all 3 times I've stayed there I've been in that section. It's a great location (close to everything) and a very cute theme.

I have a different opinion. We paid for preferred and were put in a Dalmations building, closest to the Mighty Ducks pool, second floor. (I'll check out the room/building number when I'm home). We loved it! We were right around the corner from the Mighty Ducks pool, which was much quieter than the main pool at Fantasia. There really wasn't any traffic going by so it was very quiet and we were able to walk directly to/from ASMu to take the buses from there, or get off there instead of taking the bus to ASMo. It is a little walk to the main building, but really nothing at all. I would request this area again over Fantasia.

We prefer a 3rd story room. That way you only hear people on either side of you, not above. (It is a pain dragging groceries and luggage in, up the elevators, but well worth it!) I don't normally like ground floor rooms because fo the foot traffic out your window.

DW and I stayed at movies on our last trip. We had the Mighty Ducks Bld. It was the last Bld in the row,but that ment less foot traffic infront of the Bld. This Bld. also has it's own pool which is less crowded. The walk to the main Bld is longer than others, but it is not bad. If I were going back to movies that is where I would want to stay.:thumbsup2

We've stayed in the Toy Story Building and the Dalmation buildings. The theming for the Toy Story buildings can't be beat! We were on the 3rd floor both times, and it was very quiet- never heard anything! Dalmations was nice because it was closer to the ASMu bus stop and there were several times we hopped that bus instead at night. I would recommend either of those
