What is the BEST place to eat when at Universal? We've decided on Three Broomsticks when at UIOA, but Universal has me stumped. I've read menus, now I need opinions! Where do YOU like to eat? :confused3

MYTHOS! AND boo i cant think of the name but there is restaurant right after the second arch when you head right toward Seuss landing. REALLY GOOD.

Thanks...but aren't these places at Islands of Adventure? My DS's have already BEGGED me to take them to Three Broomsticks. Huge HP fans! I was hoping to find places to eat at Universal. ;)

We eat at Finnegans at US, but much better places at Citywalk or the resorts.

We finally got to try Lombard's on our last trip and enjoyed it. We've tried to eat there a few times before, but it was always closed! They seem to have strange hours. Even this past time when we finally got in and ate at around 2:30, they were getting ready to close at 3:00! :confused3 I guess they have different hours depending on how busy it is???

Also, if you're looking for something quick and light, try the San Francisco Pastry Co. They have sandwiches, croissants, fruits, desserts, etc. I like getting their turkey croissant and it comes with potato salad and fruit on the side.

The International Food & Film place is not bad either. Typical theme park food, but there's a huge variety to choose from. So, there's something for everyone in your group.

I was hoping counter service so we could keep on our way.

I thought the place with sandwiches sounded nice and light for lunch and would please all the adults in our group, it doesn't look like there is much for our "picky" kid eaters though. The other place mention with a wide variety of food sounds good...

Louie's in the NY section has great, NY style pizza, as well as pastas. My favorite counter service restaurant in the park :thumbsup2

International Food and Film is not awful, but it is basic theme park food, like in the rest of the park.

Confisco's Grille

We have the same problem with our son, so when we do eat at the San Francisco Pastry Co, one of us will go over to the Midway Grille in Amity and get him a hot dog or corn dog nuggets. Midway Grille is not far at all from the Pastry Co.

I know you said you've read the menus, but just in case you didn't check out this site, it's pretty good...

Mythos for me, the best view of the parks as well.

Mythos sounds great, but it's at the wrong park. :sad2:

I think I'll check out the menu again from allears......meanwhile, thanks for all the suggestions. Keep 'em 'comin! :yay:

At Universal we eat at the Boulangerie but that would be breakfast or lunch. We don't ever eat dinner at Universal...we usually eat at IOA or Citywalk or the resorts.

We like Louie's...but LOVE NBA City...so in October, we will just walk out of the gates and have lunch at NBA before HHN S&S starts.

I usually go right outside the park to the Hard Rock Cafe. It's very close to the Studios exit, so it is easy to go out and come back. It doesn't take much more time than eating at a sit down inside the park. I rarely eat inside the Studios. Better value for the price and serving sizes.

We usually use Mels Drive In, or Richters. Mostly for the atmosphere.Richters you order basic food, and then put the toppings on after you get the food.

We usually end up at Richter's or we walk over to Margaritaville.

OP: I think you are getting suggestions for IOA as well because the topic says 'Universal' and I've noticed on this forum that 'Universal' is most often used to refer to both parks and US = Universal Studios and IOA = Islands of Adventure to refer to each park specifically. ;)

That said, my DH and I have both enjoyed the burgers at Richter's and liked the fried chicken at Amity Fried Chicken, too. (btw: we find the portions to be HUGE, we usually split a fried chicken plate or ribs & chicken plate.)

For some reason, though, we usually end up eating over at IOA. I'm also looking forward to eating at the Three Broomsticks during our upcoming trip in October!! :goodvibes

We tend not to eat in US, we leave the Park and go to CityWalk or IOA. If you are looking for quick at CityWalk, the relatively new food court has the Whopper Bar, Moes, and an Asian place (sorry, the name escapes me). The Whopper Bar will please any picky eater, since they're all connected, the grown-ups can eat a slightly more adventurous meal. We have also been known to grab a pretzel and keep going, then have an early dinner at CityWalk.
