Anyone know their release pattern? I've already booked the departure flight of our Thanksgiving trip via American, but their return flight prices are insane, so we'll fly JetBlue home, instead. I just need to find out when they'll likely release their fall flights, as right now they're only booking through early September. TIA!

seems like a lot of other airlines have released for that time frame, I'm in the same boat as you, waiting for Jetblue to release fall of 2021

Yes, JetBlue & Southwest wait a lot longer than the legacy airlines (American, Delta, United) to release itineraries.

True, but JetBlue also generally has fewer schedule changes and flight cancellations (aside from weather related and last minute issues) after they have been announced.

True. I wasn't criticizing, just stating the fact to someone who seemed like they might not be aware of the discount carriers' later release pattern.

Jetblue released fares through January 2022 this morning.
They were probably waiting until after they made the announcement about the changes to their fare tiers, for those that have missed it, here is a summary, there are for flights purchased after 4/1/21:
  • Blue Basic
    • No Carry On, personal item only (Policy is for trips on or after 7/20/21)
      • Carry On Allowed with Even More Space Seats, Mosaic Members, Active Duty Military and Unaccompanied Minors
    • $100 change fee + fare difference will apply for each change
    • Same Day Changes will be $75 with no fare difference
  • Blue, Blue Plus and Mint
    • No Change Fee, only fare difference
    • Same Day Changes will be $75 with no fare difference
    • Guaranteed that you will not need to gate check your carry on or you will get a $25 travel bank credit
  • Blue Extra
    • Same day changes with no fee and no fare difference
    • Guaranteed that you will not need to gate check your carry on or you will get a $25 travel bank credit
Jetblue also just announced that you can book some American Airlines flights through their website, not that I want to fly American Airlines.

JB is making it harder and harder to love them.
I was reading on their site yesterday re:blue basic's rules. Gate checking your carry on will be $65 unless you've already checked two bags, then it will be $180 for that one bag. Yikes.

I'm not happy with all JB's fees. Wish I didn't have so many points to spend with them, or that I could use the points to offset the fees. That could work too.

Blue Basic fares booked on or after 2/25/21 for travel 7/20/21 or later do not allow a carry-on bag that can be placed in the overhead bin.
The only exceptions are:

  • Mosaic members (who get a carry-on bag and early boarding with all fares)
  • Travelers that are combining a Blue Basic fare with an Even More® Space seat
  • Active military
  • Unaccompanied minors

Please note, of the above exceptions, only Blue Basic Customers who purchase an Even More® Space seat are guaranteed to get their carry-on bag onboard.

Those who have added a pet to a Blue Basic booking will be able to board with both a personal item and their approved pet carrier.

Otherwise, if you have booked a Blue Basic fare, any carry-on bag brought to the gate (aside from a personal item that fits under the seat in front of you) will incur a fee and need to be checked. The fee is $65 (if it would be your 1st or 2nd checked bag) or $180 (if it’s your 3rd)
