One of our dinners last week was at Rose and Crown and they did not serve bread with the meal.

Just wondering what other places do not serve bread with the meal?

Most (all?) of the Signatures include bread service.

For the non-Signatures, the ones that come to mind that include bread are: Be Our Guest, 'Ohana, Tutto Italia, Olivia's, Captain's Grille, Raglan Road, Via Napoli (you have to request it), and Les Chefs de France.

Ones that I can think of that do not serve bread include: Sci Fi, Yak & Yeti, and Portobello.

Kinda dumb question, but are you talking about free bread service?

Other than (maybe?) Cirtrcos, I don't think I've EVER had bread service.... Unless you count the out-of-a-box bread sticks at LeCellier

There are excellent bread services offered on the menu at Jiko and Saana. Of course bread is offered on all buffets (Boma has some good choices as does Tusker House).

Most of the table service restaurants will provide some type of bread or rolls. Some do not automatically give it to you unless you ask. I also think that the restaurants which are mainly sandwich places like the Plaza, do not provide bread or rolls. All buffets have bread/rolls on them.

Trying to remember from our last trip, I don't think that bread was provided at 50's prime time, Beaches n Cream, or Sci Fi. We asked for bread at Via Napoli.

I've gone through my photo archive and these were the places that served some kind of (free) bread service with the meal.

Signatures: Narcoossee's (loaf), Artist Point (loaf), California Grill (sliced), Citricos (loaf), Jiko (biscuit-like), Yachtsman (biscuit-like)

In Park Signatures: Le Cellier (breaksticks and rolls), Hollywood Brown Derby (rolls), Monsieur Paul (baguette)

Resort Non-Signatures: Captain's Grille (sliced bread), 'Ohana (loaf), Raglan Road (soda bread), Grand Floridian Cafe, Olivia's (loaf)

In Park Non-Signatures: Les Chefs (a baguette), Via Napoli (upon request, sliced), Tutto Italia (mixed), Be Our Guest (rolls)

I didn't see any photos of bread in my collection for Sci Fi, Yak & Yeti, Portobello, Flying Fish (but that struck me as odd), Rose & Crown, CRT, or Rainforest Cafe.

Great list, figment_jii! flying Fish definitely offerss bread, a fairly generic sliced sourdough.

Portobello does serve bread in fact it comes with roasted garlic that years ago they started including the recipe for on a card now you need to ask for it again. I know they also run a lot of specials with coupons for pizza and such this may not include bread??? But anything lese certainly does.

That makes sense...it seemed odd to me that Portobello did not include bread service. We went on a night when the server was distracted by a large party (12+), so my guess is that perhaps they forgot to bring us bread. After all, we had to flag down some other server to get drink refills and ultimately our bill. So forgetting the bread doesn't seem unlikely.

I ate at Tony's Town Square earlier this month and was surprised that no bread was served. I guess I usually assume bread will be served at an Italian restaurant.

We asked for bread at Tony's a few weeks ago and our waiter said the only bread they have is the appetizer on the menu.

I have a friend who has to have bread with every meal. We went to Applebees and they only have the garlic bread on the appetizer menu. After the food came, she pulled out bread wrapped in aluminum foil that she brought from home!

Sometimes you just have to order bread if you want it. Couldn't cost that much.
