What lunch box/bag does your teen boy carry to school?

Just trying to get ideas of what is acceptable to carry to high school these days.

My son carries a plastic insulated bag that is the same shape as a brown paper bag.

My son carries a grey lunchbox. It's quite big on the inside, with a zippered compartment on the top half.

My DS17 has a black insulated paper-bag shaped lunchbag. Or a grocery bag, lol.

ETA and since I can't find an online picture of it, here is his actual bag.

My son refuses to take a lunch bag or really any type of lunch. He skips breakfast too (he can barely crawl his butt out of bed and make it to the bus stop on time). Everyday he takes two water bottles, a juice box and a granola bar or two. He just throws it all in the top of his backpack as he rushes out the door. Between the time he gets home from school and bedtime he makes up for all those lost calories.

This sounds just like my son!! I have to practically force him to eat breakfast and toss some food into his backpack for lunch (no lunch bag, it just floats around loose in his backpack)but when he comes home from school he does nothing but eat till he goes to bed!!!

High school- brown paper bag. I have yet to see a high school kid carrying any type of lunchbox LOL.

When I was in high school which was not that long ago the canvas insulated lunch bags were all the rage.

I had to think about this for a minute because both of my kids use insulated lunch bags BUT... they don't use their lockers so one wouldn't "see a lunchbox" since they stay in their backpacks for the most part until they're seated at the lunchtable, and even then they probably don't actually pull it out, they just take the food out. At any rate, mine prefer a cold sandwich to a warm soggy one, so it works out fine and they're not embarrassed. :p

When my kids bring lunch to school my son would only use a brown paper bag but my daughter has just a plain insulated pink lunch bag.

My 14-year-old carries a black insulated bag with a Nike logo on it. The reusable bags are still "cool" where we are, because there is a pretty active environmental club in the district - recycling projects and the like. But I know in some high schools it's brown paper bags. Do you know anyone with kids in the school he'll be going to?

similar to this.

Same lunch bag they used before they went to high school. They changed from cartoon characters mid way elementary so they are just plain colour.

I'm guessing my son takes his food out during the day so now one really sees it. Never goes to the lunch room, his friends wander outside. Daughter does carry hers to the lunch room and sits with friends.

Ds17 has only had lunch sophomore year, but we have open lunch periods, and most leave school. I think he might just throw a granola bar in his backpack, although they can't carry them from class to class.

During middle school, they both used an insulated bag similar to what's been shown.

Once the oldest hit high school, it's brown bag ONLY!

Jr High was pretty much brown bags only too- my daughter brought her lunch every day in Jr. High, she hated buying. In high school she brings most of the time but 2 times a week or so their lunch table gets together and calls out for pizza delivery, Chinese food delivery etc. I am retired now so if they want something that doesn't deliver they text me what they want and I pick up and drop it off at the school.

Unless they buy lunch, most kids here use one like the LL Bean one pictured. My son has the same one in black.

The girls' are more like cute little fashion accessories and get carried around like a purse.

My DS16 leaves at 6:40am...there is no way he could carry his lunch in a brown bag. He doesn't eat PB and J sandwiches -just ham or turkey with cheese, so it needs to be insulated. We got this exact bag at costco and its been great. It is not too big, but the shape of it holds a lot of food.

For whatever reason (maybe distance?) neither of our boys used their lockers in high school. They only carried their backpacks. So no lunch box or bag. They just bought something in the cafeteria (usually just a snack, then made up for it when they got home).
