I made a few ADR's that require a CC Guarantee a few days ago, but it stated that it wasn't taking money out of my account. Well I've got various WDW $1.00 transactions. ( example of code: PA-WDW_CRO_REF)

Is this happening to other people? Do they go back and put all of these dollars back in?

I know sometimes people will take out a small amount to make sure your account is good and then put it back. But there are at least 10 of these showing up on my online banking.

are they in a pending status on debit cards they could show a pending charge for each reservation just to make sure the credit card is valid but the actual charge shouldn't come through

I am not sure as mine did not do that but if the card is good today that does nothing to guarantee it will be good tomorrow or 4 months from now.

I believe they just keep it as a pending charge. Tomorrow it should be gone. They are just pinging your account to make sure it is active.

They are not pending, the money is out! There are 10 $1.00 debits. But I only made 8 reservations, and only 4 of them required the CC hold.

I guess I'll just watch it a few days and see what happens.

This was my concern exactly as if you made any changes to reservations that you cancelled in modifications or cancellations are you sure they cancelled them?, and if so how does a vacationer(such as yourself) prove its been changed or cancelled?

I did cancel Tony's so I could book 'Ohana. I received (and saved) a cancellation email.

I am gonna be so mad if I get there and funky things start happening to my debit card. It'll have my vacation money on it and I don't want them to be pulling it out for no reason! I hate this new ADR policy!

Generally when little charges like that happen, it's on your bank's end. Disney verifies that the card is active and the bank puts through these minimal charges to prove that the card is valid. Your bank will reverse the charges or credit your account within a few days.

I too am worried about crazy stuff happening thus we have discussed canceling and ordering a new CC to prevent this very thing happening unexpectedly. As some cancellations of mine were on the phone and no email sent to verify. My husband already thinks disney is over rated now let him see charges like this and he will freak. You know there are people who will use a prepaid CC and cards without sufficient credit to get over on this policy so why implement a loose policy as such. Whomever came up with this will for sure be on the chopping block.

This. Disney usually sends a $0 charge through to verify the card. Some banks and cards do not allow a $0 so it has to be done (on the bank's end) as a $1. The charges should drop off within the week.

I made 12 ADR's for our upcoming trip using my debit card and there were no charges whatsoever verifying my card.
Why just certain people and/or cards?

I am not sure I made reservations and some changes and no charges showing up for me so far

You should call your bank and Disney ASAP and find out what is going on. Using a debit card may not be the best idea b/c if someone skims your number, then they can clean out your account. I have read a lot of posts on this board about skimming that occurs while people vacation at WDW. Be sure to do early check in from home and don't hand your card to anyone while you are there.

I have never seen this before and I have done this plenty of times myself with my cc. Just recently Askershus and nothing. I am subscribing caues I am curious as to what OP finds out. Good luck OP!!

In answer to all these questions, I work for a bank and can tell you without a doubt it's Disney verifying your card to see if it is valid, not the bank...These 'charges' are pending on your card and what you can do to avoid it is by simply using your credit card. This avoids money unnecessarily being held out of your checking account. Don't worry, the pending debits will fall off within 4 days.
