I am bringing my soon to be college graduate twins to disney in January (we just went this past January), they are both over 21 years old. I am seriously considering the dining plan because we will use the alcohol at lunch and dinner (one drink each meal). The alcohol drinks are very expensive, so I think the dining plan will be worth it. We will also plan on visiting Ohana's twice which is pricey! My main question, at our CS meal, which will always be lunch, what kind of alcohol can we get (I'm guessing only beer or wine?). Also, at a sit down restaurant like Ohana's, can we get any alcohol beverage that's on the menu? We are looking forward to our cocktails when we visit! Thanks everyone!

One hundred thirty two people read my post and no one knows what alcohol is available at counter service restaurants? If no one knows, can someone point me in the right direction?

It’s not necessarily just beer or wine. Look at the menus ahead of time to see what alcohol they serve. I always order a frozen margarita with my entree from the Mexico counter service in Epcot when I’m on the quick service dining plan.

So, for the most part, you can get a single serve of whatever is offered on the dining plan at whatever counter service location you’re at. But always ask up front before you order if it’s included on the ddp, just in case. Because if there is a limited time, super pricey cocktail offered, you just can’t be sure until you ask.

Also, keep in mind, no alcohol is served in the MK at counter service restaurants. So you’re out of luck there.

The Lapu Lapu that is served in a pineapple costs over $20. That drink is usually not included on the ddp. But if they serve it to you in a glass, it is included on the ddp. As always, double check and ask before ordering at any restaurant. YMMV.

Thank you! If we do get the DDP, we might go over to Contempo Cafe for lunch and get a nice cocktail which they seem to offer. TBH, we cannot find a good CS restaurant in MK anyway!

Definitely ask at CS if what you choose is included. I know at the pool bar at the BC (QS), it was limited to certain drinks, not all alcoholic drinks were included. I believe it was the same at Cantina San Angel - not all the drinks were included, I can't remember what we couldn't order. Though if you do plan on having a drink at every meal, the DP is probably worth it for you. Remember, at TS restaurants the tip is not included, so cost of the drink will be added to the total of the bill for tipping. If each person orders a $20 drink, add on about $15 to the tip. You will still, most likely, come out ahead.

Thank you, good points!

I know Ronto Roasters and Docking Bay 7 have cocktails on the menu. For that matter, you can also get alcoholic blue and green milk at the Milk Stand. And of course, there's also Oga's Cantina. I have no idea whether any of those options are dining plan eligible, though.

Every counterservice I asked said any alcoholic drink $18 and under qualifies unless it specified on the menu which was a few table service restaurants.

Ohana gave the lapu but in a regular glass, not in a pinapple. Backscratcher was included in our drink.

We found that there were a lot of great cocktails at the counter service in the parks, but the options were severely limited at the resorts (usually just wine or beer or some sort of premixed drink in a can).

My fave QS meals in MK area using the DP are at the Oasis pool bar at the Poly or Beaches pool bar at Grand Floridian. I am a fan of the frozen alcoholic beverages that are available at those bars.

I like to use QS credits at Hollywood Studios because I enjoy the Grown-up Lemonade at Woody's and the Rum Island Breeze at Backlot Express (the smoked BBQ pulled pork burger may be messy, but it sure tastes good!).

Thanks! You seem like you got it covered! Appreciate it!

We stayed in May 2024 with the DDP . We were able to order whatever was listed on the QS menu for alcohol. I cannot think of a single place that restricted us. We had mixed drinks, margaritas and beer. We stay at BC and by the pool they allowed us to order any mixed drink with our meal at SAB, which we ordered via the pool attendant. If you order at the counter at Hurricane Hannah is only beer or wine in a sealed container were the choices. So we ordered from our loungers to have a full menu .
When ordering breakfast with QS my husband even grabbed some Miller Lite cans of beer for the drink with our breakfast platters . Which he threw in the room cooler for later.

Love this thread! Where is the menu from if you order with the pool attendant at SAB? And could you order a drink with the attendant but get your meal from Hannahs?

If you are at Stormalong Bay there are pool attendants walking around taking food/ drink orders. We ordered our food and drink together as a quick service credit . The menu they give you will have a slew of all the drinks available with the credit. I got the chicken sandwich- fries and a pinacolva drink with my order. My daughter got a margarita with her burger. Again just using 1 QS dining credit each. We ate on a lounger at the pool daily doing this.

Is it the Hannah food/menu or from one of the other restaurants there?
Also, that sounds lovely!
