Hi! I'll be visiting WDW in January and am wondering about park hopping with MEP and Guest Passes. Can somebody please clarify: The park reservation I make is for the FIRST park of the day that I'll visit. At ANY time I can hop to the other parks that are not blocked out that day? (For example: if I make a reservation for Studios but want to hop to MK that evening, I can do that as long as MK isn't blocked out? Or does MK ever hit capacity and park hopping isn't allowed?)

You can park hop at anytime after you enter the park you made reservations at (as long as the park is not blocked out). I doubt that the parks will hit capacity in January. Also, watch to see if the parks are changed to good to go days. On those days you can go to any park (even if you made a reservation).

Thank you so much! If I made a reservation for Animal Kingdom but decide I want to go to Epcot first instead, do I need to modify my reservation? What if Epcot isn't blocked out, but no more Epcot reservations are available?

Yes, you can modify your reservations and choose Epcot if it is available. If no reservations are available at Epcot, pick a different park and go there first, scan your pass and head to Epcot. As long as it is not blocked out you don’t need a separate reservation for it. If MK is available, I would go there first and take the monorail to Epcot. If it is a good to go day, you can go to any park. Have fun.

No need to modify. But this makes sense now. Thank you!

It doesn’t matter what park you have reservations for at Disney World either. You can scan your tickets at the park where you have reservations and head to the park you want to go to. No need to wait until a certain time anymore. The only reason you would modify your reservation is if the park you really want to go to opens up. Sorry if this is confusing for you.

No, it makes perfect sense. I meant that in CA it doesn't matter which park you have reservations for if it's after park hopping time. If you are starting your day at 11 a.m., it doesn't matter which park you have a reservation for. You can go to either. But I understand now that in FL, I always need to visit the park I have a reservation for first... regardless of time of day. Thank you!

So, we are heading to WDW starting 4/12 but I can't get MK reservations for any day we are going to be there. I have reservations for the other parks so if MK is still blocked that week I can't start at one park and hop to MK later? I can only do that if it opens up to cast? So frustrating.

Guests take priority over CMs. If you have any comp tickets, you can use those. They are not blocked out. Just check daily to see if a blockout date opens up. Hopefully it will.

Yes, I know guests come first and I don't mean to complain but it does get frustrating. For the week I have to use MEP for me, guest passes for 3 guests and 3 comp tix for 1 guest and then buy 1 child's pass for 1 day. I don't have enough comp tix for all of us to use to get into MK. Fingers crossed that it opens up when we are down there.

Thanks for your help.

Ok another question. Do our comp tix allow us to book multi pass 7 days in advance or still just 3 days in advance? Thx

MJ

In case you haven't seen yet, it looks like all of April is now unblocked! (we're headed down the week after you and were going to hit some of the MK block out days) And, for future reference/FYI, comp tix can book LLMP 7 days in advance with an on-site resort reservation since they're linked to a specific person/guest in Disney's system.
