Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Don't think I've ever seen a bowling setup with an odd number of lanes. Where's the ball return for the middle lane?
There are only 4 lanes. Don't believe your lying eyes. There are only 2 ball returns and only 4 scoreboards overhead, and 4 scoring terminals.

Could it be they just wanted to make the bowling area look more expansive, less confining?

I think the pool complex is amazing. A couple of minor complaints:

1. Hot tubs aren't deep enough
2. I wish there was a bigger lap pool at the Dolphin and that it would be designated adults only.

But overall I think it is great - and way better than the pool at any of the monorail resorts.... Also, since S/D is a big conference hotel, I think that helps with fewer people using the pools...

I'm curious how successful the arcade room with the bowling alley will be....

Did you try the pool by the Mandara Spa Health Club at the Swan also near the Splash Pool Bar . They normally have buoy lanes for laps. There is also a black lane marker painted on the bottom of the pool.

ETA: add more details on the specific location. @gottalovepluto pointed out the Mandara Spa is actually in the Dolphin.

Is that the quiet pool at the front by the hot tub at the swan? Or is that another pool? There were no buoys I saw, but maybe when we go back in September I'll look.

I think I confused you when I mentioned Spa as in Mandara Spa Health Club up in the Swan building right past the round Garden Grove restaurant.

ETA: still cleaning up after @gottalovepluto corrected my erroneous Mandara Spa reference...:guilty:

Apologies if I have missed this on earlier pages. What is best option for grocery delivery to Dolphin? Is it correct they won't store anything that needs refrigeration? Thanks!

Has anyone attended Food & Wine Classic? Is it worth doing? It looks excellent!
I have. It's fun! Love that you pay once and then can visit the booths/stands as you wish without having to pay at each one. Lots of variety - heavy on the wines. Lines for food can get long. Enjoy the different areas/zones they have set up like the Bubble (champagne) lounge and the Chinatown area. Entertainment is great. Definitely a more adult atmosphere, particularly as the night goes on. I've seen people bring kids, but I don't know that I recommend it. Just not a lot for them to do. One caveat. I went one year when weather moved it indoors to their convention space. Obviously not something they could control or that you could know far in advance, but it definitely lost something in the translation.
