Newbie to DVC here especially waitlisting reservations. I am looking to book another room at BWV October 4-9. Every date is available except for Sunday the 5th. Would I waitlist the whole range of dates or just the 1 day that in unavailable?

I would book the dates you can and then waitlist the 1 night. If it comes through then member services can combine it into 1 reservation.

I would book the 4, 6-9 since they are available and then book the 5th in another booking category to assure you have a place to sleep and then waitlist just that night.

Okay so pretty much 2 different reservations (october 4 & then october 6-9) and just waitlist the 1 day and have them combine if it comes through?

My other question is, this reservation is actually for a friend so would I put in her information ? And if that is the case, would I be the one notified about the bookings and not her?

I am checking the website constantly to see if the date becomes available, if it becomes available and I've not heard about coming off the waitlist, what can I do?

Correct, book the 2 separate reservations, and as eticket said, if its available in a different room type for the night you are replacing book that as well and set up the waitlist to replace that 1 night if it comes through.

If you want the friend to be the one notified then you would put her in, however if you want to be the one notified then you need to put yourself in as the lead guest. You can have member services change that later on.

If the night is available and the waitlist does not come through, which does happen quite often, book it yourself.
