Voting Process & Stickers NOT Political

Yes!!! That's it. I Googled all different kinds of things and could not find it!! I was beginning to think it was a figment of my imagination.

I found a page for my coutny election commission that had the history of their operations. It only had one picture, from a 70's era machine, but it mentioned Shouptronic machines by name, so that was the key word for a search.

This is what it looks like with no ballot by the way:

Just a sea of lighted buttons that can be masked off or shone through as needed for the layout.

Voted this morning. Got in line at 10:30 am and was out the door at 11:30 am. They gave me one sticker when they checked my ID and one sticker when I put my ballot into the tabulation machine before I left. Our process is that we show ID and a poll worker scans it. We get a printed blank ballot and put the blank ballot into a machine and pick our picks on a touchscreen. Then, we take the completed ballot from that machine and put it into a tabulation machine on our way out.IMG_4886.jpeg

In NH "mail in voting" is only for absentee ballots, which have specific criteria to utilize. There's no early voting. All voting outside of absentee ballots occurs on election day.

Went about 1:30. Stood in line for about 2 minutes. They checked ID (both visually and scanned it), gave me some print out to give to the person handing out ballots, I got my (paper) ballot and marker. Filled it out at the pseudo booths my town has moved to, stuck my ballot in the Scantron machine, got my sticker and was out the door. Whole process was less than 10 minutes. Smallish town in NH

I saw another Ohio one posted already, but...
My husband was 2nd in line when the polls opened, but said a line had formed by the time he was leaving and there were people waiting for spots in the (very small) parking lot. I voted mid-afternoon and there was not a line, but it was busier than it normally is (often, I'm the only voter when I go, or maybe there's one other), but there was a steady stream of us today... not quite a line, but a steady flow.)

My daughter (who does not like to be the center of attention) was a first time voter today. She said "they rang a bell, everyone cheered... it was horrible!"

I would be in trouble having to sign an iPad. I am left handed and any time I have to sign on a tablet or mobile device my signature looks nothing like it does when signing on paper. There’s usually no way to rest or support my hand without affecting the screen.
Ours uses iPads but we also have voter ID laws and must confirm our address and name plus they will look at you to verify you're the same person in the picture when you go to vote. But to your point the signature on my DL is done using an iPad as well. I'm always pretty careful to sign well on anything but admit I'm more careful for the DL. With my name being so long (23 letters then add an additional 5 for my middle name when needed) there's never really full space to make it perfect.

I like that one.

We voted last Wednesday and got these stickers

In the past we've had ones that say "early" or "advanced" can't remember but it seems to depend time to time.

The sunflower is the symbol for the County and applicable for being in the sunflower state.

I like our design but I think it's pretty cool to see what other places have, some are very creative in what they have, never heard of doing bracelets but that's a neat idea.

I voted early last week and they had buttons and stickers. We usually have four or five on top of the usual "I voted" stickers. At this particular location they had "I am Alaska Native and I vote" stickers and buttons in different colors but I only got these two. The Inupiaq sticker is particularly beautiful this year in my opinion. voting stickers.JPG

So proud to take DD to vote today for the first time. Poll workers clapped. We got the usual sticker.
