The Star Wars Dessert Party at Hollywood Studios...
I surprised Joe with this event about a week or so before our trip and he was soooo excited. He's a HUGE Star Wars fan and watches anything Star Wars related. Like many of you, his new fav is The Mandalorian. He's obsessed with The Child and even purchased a baby Yoda stuffed animal. Really?!?! LOL! Me, not so much. I've never been a huge Star Wars fan however, I was looking forward to the food and drink...
We checked in at the Launch Bay and were given lanyards. We were then told we just had to show our lanyard at the Darth Vader Meet and Greet area and we wouldn't have to wait in line. We were also given our table number (this is an assigned seating event). Before Joe and I helped ourselves to all the wonderful food and drink options, we chose to visit Chewbacca and Darth Vader. Both of these character meets blew me away. They were so much fun. I tried to talk Vader into letting me join the Dark Side, but he dismissed me. WHAT!?!? I would have been a great asset...
The food and drink options here are the best out of all the dessert parties we have attended. There were 3 different alcohol based drinks, beer, wine, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and water. There were desserts galore and savory options like meats and marinated cheeses, pita bread, bean dip, hummus, and fresh fruit. Everything was delicious and Joe and I made our way to the buffet several times.
While we were eating, the Stormtroopers walked around and interacted with guests. This was also a lot of fun. Then, they escorted everyone to the fireworks viewing area, which is right in front of the Chinese Theater. We were also given a very cool Darth Vader stein as a parting gift.
This was honestly my favorite dessert party. Joe was like a 9-year-old kid. He was so excited that he got to meet the characters, interact with the Stormtroopers, and watch the amazing fireworks. We felt we got so much more for the money we spent than at the other dessert parties.
Next up, lunch at Beaches and Cream...
