Vero Beach before Cruise out of Port Everglades

Hello,
we want to use some dvc points on staying at Vero Beach before our cruise out of Port Everglades. On the Magic in July.

What do you think, is the way to long on the morning of the cruise?

We are staying at wdw before and want to go for 1 or 2 nights to Vero

We have even sailed out of Miami after a stay at Vero beach. It was doable.

We did exactly this in July was great and an easy drive to the cruise. Only downside was we had to leave really early

We find staying at VB prior to a Port Canaveral cruise is a great way to start a vacation. If we were sailing out of Port Everglades, we would consider doing that as well. It would simply take an earlier departure from the resort to drive down to either the FLL airport or the port, depending on whether you have a rental car or your own vehicle. Google Maps reports that it’s 132 miles from Disney’s VB Resort to either the Port Everglades Cruise Terminal or FLL airport, approximately a 2.5 hour drive. Our DD stayed at VB prior to a DCL cruise out of Miami, driving down on Saturday morning. That was more of a hassle, since it’s another 20 miles and gets into more traffic as you get closer to Miami, but she managed it just fine. She travels solo, so usually takes DCL transport from the airport after dropping off her rental car. For two or more passengers, it might be more convenient to use Uber/Lyft from the car rental center at the airport if that floats your boat.

I would say that’s fine. I used to live north of Tampa and drove to the Miami port day of cruise. (Twice.)

We’ve done this and also been in Orlando the night before leaving out of Miami many times. Hotels in Miami . Drive with our own car no problem. Just leave a buffer because sometime traffic. You probably won’t make the buffet for lunch lol. But the stuff on the pool deck is still open until they pack it up for muster.
