Ok, for those that have been to this.....any advice? My mom and sister are going, and have never been there before? they are registered, have their tickets. What else do they need to know??

First time for us too. What should we expect as far as crowds and older available merchandise?

I've never been, but I do know shortly after the first time slot of sales, on the first day, you can usually google search and will find a blog posting with pictures and prices.

They do sell only so many tickets per time slot, so it is crowd controlled to a certain extent.

I've seen in the past the last 2 days or so, they start taking more discounts off certain patterns or bag styles.

Usually it's a pretty good bet, that if its a pattern under the sale section on the site, that there will be some products of some sort by that pattern in the outlet.

There is a specific blog, that girls does a total walk through, and scans layout map of where everything is.

oh my vera

I've never been either. Here is a few hints from the top of my head that I read on some Vera FB groups from one's that have been there.

Grab 2 of the pink bags that they sometimes tear.

Said holding the pink bags can give you cramps in fingers and to grab one of the huge totes to put your items in you can put the tote in the don't want bin at checkout. Use the pink bags to take stuff out to car.

Don't take too much time trying to decide if you want the item or on pattern placement. If you think you want the item grab a few of them and decide later if you want it and on what placement you want. There is do not want/changed your mind bins all over.

Check those bins for items people changed their minds about. Lots of good stuff in them.

Don't wear a heavy winter coat, dress in layers in case you have to wait outside.

Carry a crossbody purse/bag so you are hands free.

Use the bathroom before your session.

Plan to go EARLY!!
I went for the first and only time a couple years ago. We had tickets but didn't get in. We arrived after lunch and waited in line (outside) for 2-3 hours and left. We were probably still an hour or two until we would've gotten inside. It moved but not fast enough.

I believe the line typically goes around the coliseum, plus snakes inside. Be prepared to WAIT!!

I'd never heard of this sale before, and I just looked at the blog that was posted above. Just so you know, if any of you live near a Vera Bradley Outlet store the prices at the outlet are similar to (or lower than) the prices posted on that blog for the factory sale. I was just up at the one at Potomac Mills (Washington DC area) a couple of weeks ago and their promotions added up to around 80% off the regular price and they had TONS of stuff (all the patterns that the blog lists as discontinued).

I don't know if the outlets always are 80% off (I'm not much of a Vera fan; I just went in because my niece loves it) or if they do other sales and promotions, but it might be a good place to check.
