OK, I know, it's a weird question, but here's the situation...

We will be checking out of our resort (BLT) and spending our last day enjoying the parks. We are thinking about having a late dinner at Boma before taking an Uber to the airport where we will be staying at the Hyatt for the night before our flight in the morning. Since we have to be out of BLT at 11am and we'd like to leave from AKV, would we be able to Uber over to AKV in the morning and drop our bags at AKV's bell services for the day? We would probably spend the morning at AK and the afternoon at Epcot or MK before heading back to AKV for dinner.

No, they won't take your bags unless you are staying at that resort.

Yes any resort will hold your bags for the day, even if your drive your own vehicle. They don't want you to leave your luggage in your car. @Giraffe_Zen is mistaken in this situation.

I agree. I’ve never been asked for room information when using bell services. Very common for early arrivals that don’t have a room available yet

We have done some version of this many times, never had an issue. And I have always been up front and told them we're not registered guests and they've never cared.

As well as departing guests, and guests that are visiting AKL during the day.

Yes, arriving guests, also need to depart at the end of their stay, and bell services will hold bags. But I'm baffled others would use this service, or feel entitled to it as a "day guest" with intent to leave that resort and go to theme parks. Same reason, parking at resorts isn't meant to be a way to skip parking at the theme parks....sure they let you do it sometimes but thats not the purpose of the AKL parking lot. But you always learn something new on Disney boards ....

Tip the bellman and he won’t care. You’ll be good

There is not entitlement, any guest of the Resorts are able to use Bell Services to store their luggage for day, a couple of hours, and often overnight.

Maybe you missed part of @kristenrice's post they are not parking or hogging the resort features. They just want their bags handy to pick up in the evening after enjoying dinner at Boma, and leave for the MCO Hilton via Uber.

So using your example they would be required to keep their bags at BLT after they check-out, and take an Uber back there clogging up the road to BLT and causing necessary congestion at the Contemporary lobby and Bell Services.

From the Disney website you linked:

Checking Out

After you check out, you’re welcome to store your luggage with Bell Services so you can enjoy Walt Disney World Resort for the rest of the day.

See OP. You’re welcome to store your luggage at bell services. Thanks for the link.

Yea that is not a set of rules listed on the link you provided but a how to use Bell Services for new guests. They also don't list that you get a receipt (claim check) to claim your items.

I completely appreciate your viewpoint (which is why I posted my question) and I believe that would leave me with 2 options. One, I can leave my luggage (2 rolling bags and a backpack x 2 since I have my friend with me) at BLT while we eat at AKV and then return to BLT after eating and head to the airport. Alternatively, I can bring my 2 rolling bags and backpack with me to AKV and set them by my table at Boma and then we can leave directly from AKV to the airport after dinner. From your perspective, would you recommend option one or option two? I believe that option one is far more time consuming so I'd like to avoid the extra trip back to BLT, but I really would like to avoid bringing my luggage into the restaurant. If you find it more inappropriate to utilize the bell services at a resort that I am not staying at and it is not a service that Disney extends to non-resort guests, then I will haul my bags along with me. It's no different than keeping them with me at the airport so it won't be the end of the world.

You can't have your luggage at your table. It is a safety issue and a violation of the Fire Code. Boma hosts will show you where you can leave your luggage unattended, the same area where stroller are left when at Boma or the hosts will suggest you drop your bags at Bell Services.

OP, sorry I was never actually replying to you. I entered into the responses of “bell services” is for everyone, anywhere kind of thing that caught my attention and frustration as I’ve seen things change at the resorts. If you’re eating a meal at Boma then yes, I think you should use bell services. I don’t know if they can hold all day, butsounds like it won’t be an issue..

…in general I wouldn’t have set my sights on eating at Boma if I had my bags on check out day, the moving and shuffling bags and using bell services twice at another hotel would have put me off, but sounds like it’s been fine for others if that’s what you really want to do. I decided to google and there is an answer on plandisney about it as expected. Good luck
