I tend to do major grocery shopping at Costco. They really kept prices the same so I’m not seeing any changes - organic chicken breast have been $5.99/lb for years now. We don’t use much dairy since the girls are intolerant so I can’t comment on that. I ran out of the organic frozen green beans and they haven’t had any for a few weeks now.
Question, do you also try to avoid Parabens and other endocrine disrupters?
Yes, as much as possible and it's not been easy, especially when going on vacation. We're reduced to
their food and sometimes
their products like toiletries. I'm not complaining. I just wish Disney and Universal would offer organic meals. After a trip we do a three day cleansing. I prefer to make my own as much as possible; taco mix, ranch dressing, salsa etc. I've been making body butter for years. Typically if I can't make it, we simply do without. Though there are staples; soy sauce, sour cream, milk, eggs where I try to buy the best quality and minimalize the portions and adding in more vegetables.
DH is a Meat & Potato kind of guy. He prefers red meat, which he eats once a week (four times a month, maybe five if he goes out with his posse). When I buy meat, I freeze some and can the rest then add it to my calendar. I mentioned this awhile back when Costco had a sale on their beef and pork loins. I believe it was $5-$8 off per package. Everything we consume and buy for our home, vehicles, lawn and our basic necessities is thought out.
DS is almost 21, when he's out with his friends, I have zero control with what he consumes but he always, always feels it that night and the day after. It's still a learning process for him.
DH and I started out 1986, to where we are now with our son, everything has changed and continues to change. I'm still learning.
