Undocking of Celebrity Solstice

I have heard of some seniors living on cruise ships long term instead of assisted living. For approximately the same cost or less they have accessible accomodations, full housekeeping, all the food they want, access to medical staff on board and they get to go to different places vs staying in one town, and all kinds of social stuff to do.

I've only been on one cruise for 5 days.....even though we were in the middle of the great wide ocean....I still felt claustrophobic and ......well, trapped. I'm sure I'll go on another one....probably Disney, but I would never want to live on one!

That is the same class as the Mariner of the Seas. They are a nice size. The Mariner is a gorgeous ship. I think they are a good size. Not sure I would want to go on a bigger one.

We went on the Mariner Nov 2007 - Eastern Caribbean. Our first cruise. What a beautiful ship! It spoiled us, though. I don't think I would want to go on a smaller ship now. I would love to try the Freedom class!

I like Royal, but we were on Carnival in January, and did they impress me..... I'd definately do one of theirs again.

I would live on Disney's Magic or Wonder in a hearbeart but I could never live on Carnival (don't know about other lines). I compare Disney's cruise line to other cruise lines as I would compare the Fort to other resorts.

Our first cruise was on Carnival and we really had a great time.

I would like to try a Disney cruise sometime. Although I think I would miss the casino. Not a big gambler but I like to play the nickle machines. ;)

I LOVE to cruise but not sure I could live on one. I would need to take a break on land some.

we did a disney when my daughter was 2.5. It was a nice ship, clean ship, definately geared towards kids. My wife wasn't that impressed with the food. It is quite expensive to cruise them. More than is worth it. I'll stick to RC and Carnival.

I should say, they had a thing where you bought a mug and draft beer was cheaper. They didn't have the baseball playoffs on when I was on it, that kinda bummed me, but the beer was affordable.

Disney cruiseline is pretty high. We mainly cruise Royal Caribbean. They seem to fit us the best. Although Princess was very nice too. We took them to Alaska.

never been on Princess, I thought it was more for old people......

I went on Caribbean Princess and enjoyed it quite a bit, not nearly as many "old People" as I imagined. Disney was a great experience for us - it was our first cruise and the service was spectacular, but for the money involved we prefer the other lines (Princess or RCCL), can't wait to see whats in store with the new Disney ships though.

the guy at the bike barn said they are moving the old ships to Tampa.

I heard that was a possibility too, it would be cool to see them under the skyway bridge. Once those new ships come out i'm sure the price for the magic and wonder will nose dive.

Tampa would be a good port for them its still close to the World.

They should keep the old ships at the bike barn...Id rent one for $75/day! It would be great....cruising the canals in a cruise ship....What...is that too much to ask?

Imagine the waiver you would have to sign for that rental...
