Trip to Zion, Yellowstone? Hotel help plz

Thank you for the warning. I ended up getting a good rate from Dollar.

Where have you decided you are definitely going?

FYI when you get your rental car in LV you will line up between the streets for the shuttle. Even if the line has hundreds of people in it, don’t fret, it moves fast. Checking in on an app will make it much faster when you get to the car center. I would not suggest an economy car due to the places you are going. If you decide to venture off the beaten path you may also want one with a bit more clearance.

If anyone with you has a permanent disability the America the Beautiful pass is free. You can also get the pass at some libraries and check it out before you go.

Thank you for all of your responses. We decided to fly in and out of LAS and will stay there the first night. We’re going for ten nights.

Rental cars are expensive. Any ideas on sales?

Thank you

We just got back from a ten day trip. It was awesome. We flew into Vegas and then went to Zion, Bryce, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone.

We had no trouble getting any hotels at all. We stayed at The Canyon Lodge inside Yellowstone. It was very clean and pretty new.

We stayed at:
Las Vegas - Park MGM
Zion - Holiday Inn
Bryce - Country Cabins
Grand Tetons - Tetons Teepee
Yellowstone - Canyon Lodge.

The weather was perfect. High 70’s/low 80’s the whole time.

If anyone has any questions I’d be glad to help. Everything was spectacular. Thanks for everyone’s help.

We did a southwest road trip this past June. We made it to Amarillo, TX, the first night, then we headed west to Flagstaff with a stop at the Petrified Forest. In Flagstaff we stayed at the Drury Inn on the college campus and I give it high marks. Our room was a suite and it was huge.

For Zion, we stayed in the Best Western that was right outside the gate. It was a bit pricey, but it was very clean, had a nice breakfast, and we could get to Zion easily at night for stargazing. Bryce was just a daytrip on the way to Moab and in Moab we stayed in another Best Western (also nice).

No help with Yellowstone, but I do think it's quite a drive. There's so much to explore in southern Utah that I would do GC, Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands and some state parks instead of heading up to yellowstone.

We did over 4000 miles going from MO to CA, but most of our driving days were 3-4 hours.

Planning a Spring trip to Yellowstone with Bozeman MT as our base. For anyone who has visited or lives Bozeman would love some tips abpout the city or tours you have taken.

What is a good month for Zion? I don’t handle heat well any more but don’t want to deal with ice and Snow either!
To avoid heat, try mid to late October. It’s a beautiful time of year at Zion. Daytime temps are 70-80. When the sun goes down it gets pretty cold so bring layers!
