We had left the veranda doors open overnight, and the room was comfy ( I was always cool in my room, even with the air at the warmest setting!) We got up at 6:30 am since we had room service arriving at 7am with coffee and pastries. They come when they say they are! As we sat on the veranda and watched the ship pull up to Nassua (or should I say back up?)We wanted a better view so we finished and headed up to BBB to watch the action. We had more coffee and fruit, and watched the scenery.
I had no plans to get off at Nassua but after lying aroung the pool and having more adult beverages, ( that KTTW card is dangerous in my hands) DH and I went by the BBB for a quick bite to eat and got off the ship and walked around the port area and got a taxi to Atlantis. We walked around the outside of Atlantis for a while then saw a little of the aquarium, then quickly lost 40 dollars in the slots. We headed back to the ship and spent the rest of the day walking around the ship to see all we missed the first day. We walked around deck 4 5 times and thought the front area was very interesting....big stuff up there.
After showering and getting ready for dinner we stopped by the family dueling pianos for awhile then made our way to AP. We get to meet our waitstaff, PJ, Beata (also from Hungary) and Daniel.
We also get to meet our table mates. They were a retired couple who are PT castmembers at DTD and a Scottish student CM at Epcot and her sister. We probably bored them to tears but they were very nice and interesting to talk to. I can't even remember what I had to eat here! So I will spare you poor reader;) I had been battling a sinus infection and a bad cough for the last 6 days and it all caught up with me and I crashed right after dinner. DH, well I don't know what he did! But I got the rest I needed, since the next day is Castaway Cay!!!!!!!!!!

It's amazing and kind of weird that the ship backs up into port. I'm glad that there isn't a casino on Disney ships. It's so easy to quickly loose money like you experienced at the ATlantis, but was it fun? The Atlantis is beautiful!

Thanks for sharing.

You are so right on both! I was amazed that they BACKED it in!
Plus Atlantis was worth losing $40 dollars in, just to see it was worth it. I just might go there some day......as for a casino on the ship, I am glad there's not. Those drinks onboard cost me plenty all by themselves!!!:)

Hi,perdidobay!
Dh and I were on the same cruise, and I wanted to comment on (I think) your tablemates. We met them during lunch on the last day(day at sea) at Triton's. They were our lunch tablemates, and they were very interesting. I told them they were living my dream...12 hours a week working at the WOD, and all the castmember perks. They even live in Celebration...how cool is that? I also wanted to add my experience with dinner table assignments. On the first night, DH and I were seated at a table for 8 that included children. We politely told our server that we would rather be seated at an adults-only table, as we had left our children at home, and did not want to be made to feel any more guilty than we already did;) Ali, the dining room manager(or head waiter?) came over promptly and asked us if we wanted to be moved to a 6-top with 4 honeymooners. We did, and were very happy at this table. Turns out only 1 couple was honeymooning, and the other couple had been married a year longer than us. They, too, had left their kids at home with plans to bring them back in Oct. They had also cruised before, so they knew to pick a night at Palo's, then waitlist for all others. They had dinner there 2 or 3 times! We enjoyed Palo's our last night(I made sure DH was first in line for res. to get this) and the cabana massages(the couples massage) at CC. I ended up getting sunburned at CC(even after being warned here to apply EXTRA sunblock) so could not do the surial bath I had scheduled for the day at sea. Oh, well, we have something to look forward to in the Fall! I enjoyed reading your trip report, and I had mostly the same observations.

Hi Mic,
I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you! Yes that was the couple that we had at our table:) They were very nice and great to talk to about WDW. Did you have early or late dinner seating? I saw very few children at the late seating but they could have been on the other side of the room. Boy am I glad you got to eat at Palos that much! It was wonderful! Ouch! I'm sorry to hear you got sunburned and especially that you missed your surial appt! I think it helped me in that I laid out by and in the pool on Sunday for a while, then more on Monday so I had built up a little tolerance to the sun. But I also put on 50 spf on at CC! I did come home with a nice tan despite the sunblock:D It's nice to know that they will move you to a new table if you want. As long as those meals last it would be major trauma to be stuck with someone you didn't like or kids if you were without!
I too look forward to this fall... I'm calling tomorrow to try and book the Oct 17 cruise:D
This time I hope to do alot more than we did last week.
Happy future cruising!
