We have Tickets for MNSSHP but not for the actual night of Halloween. The grandkids would like to trick or treat on 10/31-Halloween/Thursday night. Suggestions?? Seems like Fort Wilderness is a madhouse and I can't tell if it is restricted to campground guests. We are staying at French Quarter. Thanks for the help.

Disney scans Magic Bands at all bus and boat points that run to Fort Wilderness starting about 2 days before Halloween. Guests who drive up to the front security gate must be a registered FW guest to gain access or they are turned away.

With the overflow parking (grass field) lot at the Fort being used to support the DVC cabin conversions, parking will also be EXTREMELY tight at Fort Wilderness which means Security will have no leeway to let outsiders in.

And it's not just Disney guests but locals too who try to crash ToT to get candy.

This system has been in place for the last few years and IMO has worked fairly well by most accounts.

Best to look for something else.

PS - but if you have something like an ADR for Hoop Dee Doo on 10/31 as a non-Fort guest, you will be admitted.

Sometimes the resorts do trick or treat at the front desk and the merchandise locations. You can ask at check in. The Fort is out, as others have said, unless you make a Hoop Dee Doo reservation (paid in advance).

One thing you could do, OP, is check the stickied "Monthly Resort Recreation Calendar" thread at the top of the Resorts Board and see 1) if POFQ is had someone report the October 2023 calendar and 2) if so what Halloween-related events it might have had.

One thing about that thread, though, is that folks don't often take a pic or share BOTH sides of the calendar (front/back) but show only the front. So you don't know for sure unless you get both sides or wait till you arrive to get your own copy.

I know Fort Wilderness lists special activities (not regularly recurring) on page 2of the Rec Calendar like Halloween events and the other resorts might do the same.

Last year, some of the resorts had a special activity calendar just for October 31. I don't know if people posted those with the monthly activity schedule.

Some resorts did have trick-or-treating, food, and games. I don't know if all resorts did.

Hopefully someone will reply who can tell you what was going on at Port Orleans last Halloween.

I'm attaching the activity sheet from the Contemporary from 10/31/2023 as an example.
