Trex cafe reservations

I tried to book a reservation for the Trex cafe online but the "book a reservation" button leads to a page error.

I called the restaurant to make one and they said they dont make reservations just priority seating. They booked me for the very first day and time I asked for 7pm dinner. My trip is in Sept and I was trying to make ADRs and everything is pretty full. I was shocked that they had something on the first try.

So is this an actual reservation or am I going to be standing in line waiting just like everyone else? Should I keep trying to book online when it comes back up?

I really think my 3yr old son would love this place
 
No worries! It's a common misconception that our ADRs are real dining reservations. Disney humors us by calling them reservations, but they're not.

When you make an ADR, it's just a priority seating. You are getting a table for your party size that becomes available after your 'reservation' time. TRex isn't as accommodating to us, and they call it like it is.

Go ahead and make your priority seating at TRex, you'll be seated in the same manner as you will be for the rest of the week at Disney. :goodvibes

I just looked online (its back up now) and its not showing any reservations available. Weird that I got one so easily by calling. Maybe I should try calling the other restaurants directly
 
I did the same thing you did. I almost think that b/c it isn't a Disney owned restaurant that they are not giving them all their open slots. I called and had no problem just like you. The funny thing is if you look at the trade/cancel threads, no one is looking for it or looking to cancel. Odd isn't it. :confused3

You can't call the Disney restaurants directly for reservations.
 
I went through the same thing where I couldn't find any openings online and finally got my answer via another thread on here...T-Rex may be in Downtown Disney, but it's not actually run by Disney...they allow Disney a "few" spots to let people make ADR's, but you can call that restaurant directly and will have no problems getting a reservation.
 
seating gets you is the ability to skirt the line at the podium out front. They'll lead you directly to waiting for a table line. If you have been to RFC it is the same procedure.

We had PS for 6:00 on a Saturday when we went and it probably saved uns 5-10 minutes. When we finished the line outside was much longer and a PS would have been very useful.
 
T-Rex is not a Disney restaurant and they release only a small fraction of their tables to Disney for booking through the Disney system. That is why you often have much better results by calling the restaurant directly.

It is also not on the dining plan, which might explain why they are not full in September.

All reservations for Disney-owned and operated restaurants must be made through the Disney ADR system, you can't call them directly for reservations.
 
I know it's been posted several times but the search feature is no friend of mine :confused3....could someone share the number to call to make TRex reservations? TIA!
