Has anyone stayed in this hotel recently? Looking for feedback on whether it's better to stay in annex or atrium rooms? In addition, I know they remodeled but is it only main hotel and not annex? What. are pro's and cons of this hotel? Has the shuttle come back to take you to cruise port?

I can’t answer your questions about Tremont House- but I will say I went back and forth several times between Tremont House and Grand Galvez for our pre-cruise stay in March and ended up choosing Grand Galvez because I wanted to be on the beach and we had a fantastic stay there!!

I just loved the old historic building and location. The service was top notch as well. I’m a Marriott titanium so we got free breakfast in the restaurant with 5 different menu choices and my family tried all of them and they were very good.

The pool was nicely heated with a swim up bar area and there was a hot tub as well that we enjoyed.

Great lobby bar with live piano player on the weekends and very good cocktails.

Service across the property was really top notch.

No port shuttle but we just took a Lyft. It was super easy and like $10 or so.

We live in the Houston area and I once considered the Tremont House as a venue for a corporate party. I haven't been inside myself, but it is a popular, and lovely, hotel. I looked on their website and found these to help with your shuttle question:

The first photo says they provide you with transportation to the cruise terminal -- and there is a link to book that service. The second photo is actually the port of Galveston, and although the Ruby Princess is the ship in the photo, you're probably sailing out of Galveston on the Disney Magic. We've sailed on her a couple of times from Galveston.

I would say that the pros of staying here are the proximity to the Galveston port and the proximity to walking to restaurants adjacent to the port (if you're so inclined). Fisherman's Wharf is a popular spot to watch the ships come in and out of the Galveston channel. The Tremont is also a few blocks away from "The Strand" which is highly popular in Galveston. If I were coming in from out of town, and staying the night prior to my Galveston cruise, I would stay in either Tremont House, Harbor House Hotel and Marina or The Galvez. All different hotels, but all Galveston gems.

We stayed there once, several years (pre-covid) ago. It was definitely nice and in a part of town you can walk around. They had a cruise shuttle I believe, but we were able to just walk all our stuff to the port a few blocks away. It is a great place if you don't have a car because everything is right there. We would definitely consider it again when we sail out of Galveston.
