Treasure afternoon shows

We are a month away from our cruise on the Treasure. I've been looking at some Navigators and noticed that the three main Disney shows (Seas, Beauty & the Beast, and Moana) seem to have the normal two evening showtimes PLUS an afternoon show. I think this is a great idea! Have any of you experienced these earlier shows? I'm wondering what the mantinee show crowds were like and if it lightened the crowd up a little for the regular evening shows.

We were VERY surprised to see huge lines at the matinee showings. We were on the 01FEB sailing and even with the (relatively) low kid count due to school, there was a big line. At the same time, the WDT is humongous on the Treasure, so there was always seating available

I was on the Feb 1 Treasure sailing. I had heard people started lining up for Moana an hour before the show. I went to the early evening showing, walked right in half an hour before the show and got a seat in the balcony, no problem. I heard later that the afternoon showing was super busy.

We did th evening shows and had to be in Line 45-60 prior. Many People watch the matinee and then came back for evening and got in line for. Better seat especially Moana

I like the idea of a matinee freeing up an evening to do something else. Well, the Treasure is 7 nights. So what's playing the other nights that don't have Moana, Seas the Adventure, or Beauty and the Beast?

We were on the Jan 25 Treasure sailing. We did the matinee show for BATB. It was busy. We went to the first evening show for Moana and got there about 10 mins before doors open and we were WAY back in line. By the time we got in, the theater was about 2/3 full. I think bc the show is new, it is very very popular.

They'll have magicians, ventriloquists, etc. It rotates for each sailing, but they'll have some sort of act in the theater on the nights there's no show. If there's a big movie premier it would be in the WD Theater as well.

On the ship last month. Both matinees were crazy busy. For beauty and the beast about 40 minutes before the show time we were way back by skippers canteen.
Moana we got there over an hour before the doors opened and there were at least 20 people ahead of in line. We did manage to get good seats for both shows.

So is the thought that it's better to just go to thr showing that's opposite of your dinner instead of the early one?
