I’ve got a car reserved thru Thrifty as a Wild Card category which will give me compact or larger for 3 people (including one child). Does anyone have experience with that at MCO? If so what kind of car did you end up with?
Also, I have a personal EZ pass I can use for tolls but is it the same cost if I just used their electronic pass or would theirs be more expensive for some reason?

We've done Wild Card, and it really has varied - based on what they have the most of on the lot, it appears. We've gotten very small and we've gotten larger.

If you have your own EZ Pass, definitely bring it. When you have your rental car, go into the EZ Pass account and add the rental information so the system recognizes your rental car with your pass. Then it essentially works the same as if it's in your own car. Do NOT get the pass or transponder from the rental company - they'll charge a daily fee that you do not need to pay. Decline any toll pass option with Thrifty if you have your own.

I used Thrifty at MCO two weeks ago. I would guess they will just point you to an aisle, which one will depend on what they have reserved that day.
If you are flying in on A side I would recommend using the Visitor Toll Pass, if you're flying in on B side I would bring yours. The Visitor Toll Pass worked great for me this last trip, was much less of a hassle than bringing my transponder from home, which I did in October. When I forgot my transponder in the rental in October it cost me $22 to have it shipped back to me. If I would have forgotten the Visitor Toll Pass it would have cost me $10.
Thrifty does not have transponders in their vehicles, at least the one I had did not have one. They use Plate Pass, they will charge you the maximum cash rate plus a fee of $10 per toll if you don't sign up for their toll service that is I believe $15/day of rental whether you use tolls that day or not.

Thank you for the information. How do I go about declining their Platepass option? It doesn’t look like I can do that on the reservation and we are Blue Chip members so I plan to use the express option in the garage and not stop at the desk in the airport

You can't decline Plate Pass, you decline their daily fee option in your Blue Chip settings. The "option" to pay the highest toll fee with a $10 "adminstrative" fee stays on, if they get hit with the toll you're going to be charged for it. The good news is that Plate Pass is the last resort of the toll agencies. They much prefer to use a transponder or an app to billing by plate.
