Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Happy Sunday Morning!

Perfect topic for me because Sunday is our pizza day.

#1 - Mushrooms - I love Mushrooms! The more the better!

#2 - Pepperoni - I prefer this over sausage

#3 - Spinach - When we get a stuffed pizza, we always get spinach & mushroom

Everyday tools - screwdriver- both kinds / hammer 🔨 pliers good pair scissors

Glue - you can never have enough - wood glue / super glue / everyday glue etc

Tape - duct tape / scotch tape / pkg tape

Rope - again different kinds for different jobs but nice to have good string around when you need it

Edit - clothespins - use them all the time !!!

Good Monday Morning!

#1 - Scissors - I just wrapped a present yesterday that would have bee very difficult to do without scissors

#2 - Bucket - I just wipe down all my kitchen cabinets and wood banisters with Murphy’s oil soap yesterday. It would have been very difficult to do this without a bucket to put my Murphy’s oil soap and water in.

#3 - Vacuum With Attachments - I vacuumed all my living room furniture yesterday, and also vacuumed every nook and cranny of my living room carpet which would have been very difficult to do without my vacuum with all the attachments. About 15 years ago, I bought this vacuum for almost $900. It’s a vacuum that has the canister on wheels that moves with the long rubber hose - my husband calls it and R2-D2 vacuum. I love this vacuum for big jobs because it does have lots of attachments and it’s got a lot of power and it really gets the job done. I don’t use it all the time because it is a bit of a hassle to drag out but once or twice a year when I need it, it’s the best!

A few days behind...

Clubs/Teams/Groups-

Symphony Chorus - DH sometimes jokes about it, like it wasn't a big deal (which I don't enjoy), but the reality is that it afforded me the opportunity to say I at least did something upper tier professional with my singing abilities. Being able to come together as a group to learn and perfect these masterworks and then get the rush of performing them in front of thousands of people are memories I truly treasure.

School Choir Boosters - Honestly, I was not a big fan of the group, but there are several things that came out of serving on the executive committee that have made me grateful. 1. It gave me a chance to sing on stage with my daughter. 2. My participation helped cement her scholarship award from the group.

Work Team - It has its ups and downs but we're a pretty good unit that works well together.

Pizza-

Tough since I've been trying to avoid cheese, but my favorite trio is roasted green bell peppers, sweet Italian sausage and black olives.

My second favorite is more of a Greek route with feta, spinach, and kalamata olives.

Third is more modern with something like sundried tomatoes, pine nut pesto, and artichoke hearts.

Overlooked Items-

Screwdrivers- I was trying to take the robot vacuum apart yesterday because someone left something on the floor that got tangled in the wheels. I couldn't have done it without a screwdriver.

Kitchen Knife- I recently got DH a new serrated one and it's become my go-to in the kitchen. I don't usually think about ease of cutting, but this knife has been the gamechanger I didn't realize I needed.

Toilet Paper- I won't get graphic, but I think we're all pretty happy when we know we have enough on hand and have a few spare rolls in the bathroom.

Bandaids... I have the covering that keeps them sanitized peeled back so when I am bleeding all over the sink it's not so messy...as you age your skin is no longer tough and citrus 🍊 🍊 trees have skin ripping thorns

Paper plates... when the kitchen is closed and the dishwasher is running... paper plates can withstand greasy pizza 🍕 🍕 🍕 🍕

Hand truck... push cart...and the volunteers from Canada call them dollies... they stand in the far corner of the garage until called to duty to save your body
