Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Cow herd. When I went to freshman year of University I sold my cattle to pay for the best year of my life. At the age of 12 because of my physical features I worked as an adult in the agriculture industry. Instead of a savings account my money bought bottle 🍼 🍼 fed calves

Desert 🏜️ 🏜️ reptile 🦎 🦎 . As a child were told each day that we walked out the door....an animal was waiting to kill me 😭 😭... except for the easy to catch horny toad and tortoises

Snakes 🐍 🐍 . I'm known for my unnatural interest in snakes. I love photographing snake tracks in the sand of the desert flood wash ... they show the movement and where they stopped at midnight .. waiting for a human 🥸🥸🥸..... but even more spiritual I have a Numbers 21:8 experience with a snake... message me if you want to read the experience

Snakes are one of the most beneficial and misunderstood creatures on the planet. I'm part of a snake group on Facebook, just so I can keep myself educated on IDs and handling should we end up with any unwanted ones in our yard. One of my friends wound up with a snake in her kitchen last night...likely seeking warmth. It was a completely harmless thing and likely hung around helping eat some of the frogs she also loathes, but they weren't interested in keeping it alive and helping it survive this unusual weather. 😪

FIRST...to Tigger trigger...the phoneix station just can't show enough Houston photos

I'd say we got about 3-4" if you include some of the melt. To our east, our friends near Lafayette are getting pounded. There's something like 8-10" on the ground over there. The video out of New Orleans right now is crazy. The local news is showing some very creative people improvising with all sorts of stuff for the kids since they don't sell things like sleds here. In case anyone wanted to see...this is our dog (and me) taking it all in when we first woke up this morning (pardon the mess).

My sister in NOLA says there is about 7" in their yard; her DH measured it. That's more snow than I have in my yard in Maine!

Happy HUMP Day!

#1 - Fawns - It makes my whole day when I get to see a small fawn at my house. It’s not very often that momma deers allow their babies to come close to the house, so it’s exciting when I see one :goodvibes

#2 - Ladybugs - I’ve always loved ladybugs, especially if one lands on me, because then I’ll have good luck that day.

#3 - DD26’s Nursery - Her nursery was so awesome! The tops half of the walls were covered with white wallpaper that had primary colored dots. Then there was a cartoon Noah’s ark border and then the bottom was stripes in the same color as the dots (my DH and my FIL had a hard time putting up that striped wallpaper - it really messed with their eyes). It was such a fun room!

Love dots !!!
I have 6 hand towels that have dots they are a lot of fun to add a splash of color to the bathroom I enjoy using them and I’m so grateful I purchased them all those years ago

I have a set of dot cloth napkins - got them at an estate sale - again fun it’s something you don’t see very often and it’s just cute very grateful to have them

I had a dark dress that had dots many years ago it was one of my favorites I wore it a lot - back when I had to dress up for work !! Wish I could get another just like it !!!

I have several pairs of socks with dots on them. My Halloween socks are black with lime green, orange, and purple dots. One pair of my Christmas socks are black wtih red, white, and green dots. I have 4th of July socks (blue with red and white dots) and Easter socks (grey with pink, lilac, and light blue dots).

One of my favorite dresses in high school was all dots- and it was a maxi dress (1970s) so there were LOTS of dots (maybe the size of m&ms)! The bodice and sleeves were white with hot pink dots, the skirt was white with bright purple dots, and the deep ruffle at the bottom was white with pink dots. I made this dress, and I was really fashionable, lemme tell ya, especially when I wore it with my purple suede shoes!!

Candy? When I was a kid, we always wanted to buy dots. These were strips of paper, maybe the dimensions of a grocery store receipt, with colored sugar dots stuck to them... pink, yellow, blue, purple. You'd eat the sugar dots off of the paper. We were always so excited to get these! Then there are "Dots" which is one of DH's favorite candies to this day... very effective at removing crowns, as he learned the hard way, hahaha!

That's incredible! Of course, we'll all be in the 50s-60s by this weekend. Hopefully they fared well overnight with the cold. It's currently 6 degrees at our friends' house just west of Lafayette. We went into the teens here, which is considered "pipe bursting conditions."

Bubble wrap - I've always found it so gratifying and soothing to pop all of the little dots.

Twister - Picturing the dotted playing mat...I haven't played in ages, but I remember playing as a kid and even in college.

Sheets of candy dots (as opposed to Dots candies) - Kind of like an edible twister board!

TIGER LILY .... after walking thru the yard and looking for spots...my recollection was that most flowers 🌼 🌼 are of the same presentation... but the tiger Lilly came to mind..... though not because she is at end of once was the best attraction at Disneyland.... the remodel has changed the fantasy of the experience ...so no longer a rope drop goal

Banana 🍌 🍌 once they're covered with spots great for smashing them at the bottom of the cereal 🥣 🥣 🥣

My antique Gila monster lizard...scientifically they are scales...on this beautiful creatures they are rows upon rows of dots ...with occasionally stripes of black to help camouflage under the shade of a plant.... waiting to strike at any unsuspecting child

Dots . . .

Minnie Mouse in her traditional polka dot dress

Shirts with polka dots

I have a set of oven mitts and potholders with a dotted pattern that are super sturdy
