There's no such thing as having too many points

After we purchased another 200 points at AKV to go with our points at BWV and VWL, we thought we'd have way too many points for awhile. Ha! We just decided to invite my sister and niece to go with us again (we took them December, 2006) and I was able to upgrade our 1 bedroom savanna view AKV reservation to a 2 bedroom AKV savanna view for 3/15-3/20/08! I was really surprised that there were still 2 bedrooms available.

We had a one bedroom at BWV the last time they came with us and that was okay, but I'm really looking forward to the extra space and privacy with us having a two bedroom this time. AND to showing my niece all the animals at AKV!

I just added 100 AKV points to go with my HH and BCV points, for a new grand total of 430. I got 100 developer points which we are using to stay an extra week at VWL in two weeks (but I had to borrow some of next year's points to do it!!)

I was just on the website figuring out points for next Spring Break, and deciding if I needed to borrow any or if I wanted to do another add-on next year!!!! I went from, "Hmmm, wonder how many extra points I'll be able to bank next year" to "Hmm, wonder how many points I need to borrow" in about a minute and a half.

Gotta love DVC!!!

This add-on disease is really bad! We added on 120 at AKV for a total of 430.

I was telling DH, I think we will need more AKV because I want to be able to get a GV for more than 4 days during the times that we like to travel.

I'm thinking another 100 at some point will happen so I have some more flexibility.

I always have too many points - when the bill for the annual dues arrives.

Sometimes I have to get it out after I spend some time on the DIS - the DIS makes me forget that I have too many points, LOL!

We have yet to satisfy our need for DVC points. We have made three add-on's and will probably add-on again this year. Our use year is October, but we only have 61 points left out of our 625 for the upcoming year.

I keep telling my DH that we have enough points now but I fear the day that the Contemporary announces DVC... I know his first question will be if we want to add points again.

Congrats on getting your new reservation! Interesting....I called yesterday, too, about changing to a different size accommodation at AKV and was told that every single unit was booked every single night through March. Guess I'll call back again....

I had called on Tues just to see if there was even a two bedroom available and was surprised that there was. I had to wait for my sister to decide if she could go or not next March before I was able to call back yesterday to see if there was still the two bedroom option. I was happy that it was still open. Being the week before Easter, I thought maybe it was still open only because the points are so darn high? 292 for Sat-Thurs.

I would waitlist and call every day. There will be new units trickling into the system weekly/monthly. They can't release them into the inventory until the units are offically released. Also, I think there was alot of impulse bookings at the new resort. I'm guessing that there will be more cancelations too.

I'm on vacation, in Cape May, and was just able to check disboards, to see what's going on.. Yes, there is no such thing as too many points...we even called our guide to give our "vacation" phone number in case our waitlist for BCV points become available in these vacation weeks!

I keep thinking with each add-on that we will finally have enough points, but so far that's not working out. With 500 points we are still had to borrow from next year. I'm thinking that means we'd better add-on!

I guess the funny part is that after adding on to AKV earlier this year and ending up with 530 points, I really DID think we had too many. Now it is just too easy to say "hey, we can upgrade that one bedroom to a two bedroom and invite more people to go with us."

When we purchased DVC early last year, I never thought we'd be using two bedrooms. I thought 1 bedrooms for just DH and me. Now it seems like two bedrooms are all we're booking in the future because we are taking family with us on each trip.

Well, we only have 360 right now. In the next couple of years I plan to add on more at VWL & SSR and I plan to add on points at AKV & VB. If CRV is anounced we may end up adding on there too. Not sure where we will stop. Of course with 4 kids, 2 grown & 2 still at home, I need a lot so the kids can all have a decent amount to use when they want to go.

I have no idea. But I know I will stop with the addonitis way before any maximum is reached.

It's just my DH and me. Someday I'd love to spend more time in Florida during winter after we are retired. I can't think of a better winter retirement destination than DVC. I guess I may have to buy more points to do that, too...

But for now, I really am trying to convinve myself that we have too many points already!

You can't own more than 2,000 at any one resort, or more than a grand total of 5,000.

That leaves me plenty of room to add on...
