Day 4
Today my alarm went off at 6:30AM. I wanted to ignore it and go back to sleep for a little longer, but we were leaving even earlier today than the day before. It was Hollywood Studios day!
Again this view never gets old!
I got dressed and did all the things, then I made coffee. We had used up all the hot breakfast items the day before so from here on out we were having cereal, English Muffins, leftovers, or a combination thereof. Here's mine. I had some of the Gingerbread Cake that I bought the other night instead of an English Muffin.
I think Jill had an English Muffin and some leftover bacon. Sorry no pictures.
Again this morning our bus luck was amazing. Not 2 minutes after we got to the bus stop, a Hollywood Studios Bus pulled up. Two girls on one of the benches commented on how good our bus luck was. We jinxed it at that point because for the rest of the trip our bus luck sucked.
Oh this day we had purchased the Multi LL pass, and the rides we booked a week out were Rockin’ Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Midway Mania.
We got to DHS with some time to spare before our first FP. I saw a shirt that I wanted in one of the stores. All they had was a 1X, and now that size is just way too big on me. XL or L is now a better fit. So the CM looked on her computer and said that Mickey’s of Hollywood had three XLs but she was confused because when we walked back there, they had three XSs, not XLs.
I did find a cool hat that “spoke to me”, so I bought that. Jill says I need to discuss this situation of inanimate objects talking to me if I ever get a therapist. Then we rode RnRC. Once we got in the queue and scanned our LL, we chose another ride, Star Tours.
We sat for a bit at the Fairfax Fare waiting for our LL for ToT.
After riding that our FP for ST was just about open, so we headed in that direction. Donald was on the street and I was just going to get a picture with him, but he went over to Jill and really wanted a photo op with her. I guess he remembered that we kissed him on the ship and really liked us!
On the way to Star Tours….
On the ride we got
Darth Vader, the Pod Racers, I believe it was Ashoka who gave us the message and we ended up on Coruscant.
Our next LL was Toy Story, but we had a bit of time to kill, so we took some photos.
Then we found a table outside of Woody’s lunchbox to wait. Ok, so this is a slightly long winded story and at this point the drama has exceeded Soap Opera quality, but I’m just going to share with you what happened today. Perhaps when it’s not so raw I’ll work it into the TR, but bear with me, it may be the next one before I’m actually providing any resolution!
Those of you who have followed along for a while know that I play saxophone in multiple bands. Well last year the Marching Band decided that we wanted new uniforms. The Director of the Marching Band (who was exhibiting sub par performance in his job) was in charge of this over the summer. He finally started doing something in October and we spoke on a conference call to a uniform representative who explained the process of how his company worked.
I was sad because I was leaving on the WBTA cruise in a week or two and thought I would be missing out on the process while I was gone. To my surprise, when I got back, NOTHING. HAD. BEEN. DONE.
Well while I was gone they held elections and now I’m on the Board of Directors after a 10 year gap. Fran and I were in charge of the band from 2000-2013. So at the meeting in December the Board gave me the project of The Head of the Uniform Committee. This was in early December, and once that was done we finally set a closing date for the uniform suggestions. That closing date was the day before this trip. So now that we were done with submissions, I thought I should contact the guy we spoke to and see if we could still make the timeline of having uniforms for next marching season.
So here’s where when I remembered to call the guy we had spoken to last October. While we were waiting for our TSMM LL to open up. I left a message with the person who answered the call, and they mentioned that they would forward my message.
Our LL came up and we got Beavers yet again.
At this point we had really done all the rides we had planned, and we were getting hungry, so we decided to head out to our next plan which was to walk up at Homecomin’.
There was no bus from DHS to Disney Springs so we hopped on the skyliner to the Riviera to catch a bus from there. While we were on our way to the skyliner, I got a text from the guy at the uniform company, acknowledging that he remembered me, and had tried to contact the other guy who had been in charge of the project. Of course with no response.
We arrived at the Riviera shortly thereafter.
We went inside and checked out the lobby. The decorations were not nearly as impressive as the other Deluxe resorts.
While at the bus stop, I set up a phone call for later in the day to talk to the gentleman about timing, etc. since we had lost two months since we last talked.
When we arrived at DS we went directly to Homecomin’ and put our names in. The wait was 20 minutes for an indoor table, so we continued our Christmas Tree stroll. Here is the Lion King Christmas Tree.
Here is the Guardians Christmas Tree.
When we got the text we were already on our way back, we still had two more trees that we would get after lunch. I also got a call that my Ranchero was listed on Bring a Trailer and it was already up to the price we were willing to let it go for.
At lunch we ordered the fried chicken platter and subbed out the mashed potatoes for mac-n-cheese. It was a lot of food!
This was my plate.
Then we had the Shine cake.
After we settled up the check, we finished up our Christmas Tree Stroll.
There was a Joffrey’s near our next destination where Jill redeemed our Christmas Tree stroll. This was our prize.
I’ll be back later with the rest of our day!
