Definitely unfortunate for that guest to be downgraded like that. This is the same type of recovery they did for BWV refurb delays...downgrading 1BR to standard hotel rooms. They probably just don't have the quantity of suites to recover 1BR Villa guests into similarly sized accommodations, though.I was just over on Facebook and someone staying in a week and a half was notified their 1-bedroom VGC room would be unavailable. They are moving them to a premium view room on the hotel side. Sounds like it's a regular sized room. And no club level. What a serious downgrade! I would be so upset to lose a 1-bedroom....the laundry, the kitchen, the 2 bathrooms. Horrible!
Makes me nervous for my upcoming 1BR stay. I was probably the last to book as I upgraded from a Studio to a 1BR with non-VGC points at 7m.
I'm wondering what's going on with the refurb. There could be booking system issues factoring in here, but I think it's more likely off-schedule if they're relocating people last second, as they definitely took inventory out proactively. Which then begs the question: are they behind schedule or ahead of schedule?
