The oval thing is just weird.

I am a fan of “light theming”, but not of “dethemeing”.

The chip and dale in the carpet, the Mickey burned into the hardwood, the thumper in the lamp, the chip and dale on the wall paper, the Pinocchio in the border…. it really was done perfectly….

Now that Disney gets most of their decor from places like Etsy and ikea. I wouldn’t expect much theming. Also, most of the really talented Imagineers that they once had now work for Universal. They are not willing to spend money for custom any more… even with the dues we all pay. They pay themselves a lot more to do cheaper quality referbs.

We just snooped around this evening, and the only change we noticed was carpet…

The wall paper in the hallways is the same though

I’m not sure if this is an improvement. I kind of like the old carpet better…. Being honest.

I think the imagineers worked for Universal and could hop back over to Disney now that Epic is done and help with the WDW/DL expansions that are still in the creative phase.

Yeah… that really sucks. I love that big outdoor patio. I also love the little spiral staircases that go from the 5th to 6th floor. I guess the patio will be gone and the cool staircases will be behind a paywall.

Not a fan of the new lounge announcement.

Any idea where I can see some pics of this? We've never been up there.

After 12 noon.... You can exit throughout the day though, just walk by the one CM sitting at the entry.

I do wish they kept it open later for entering DCA.

This is such a bummer. We always take an afternoon break and it will suck to not hope into DCA back there.

The nice thing is that the entrance past Napa Rose is rarely busy after park open and you can still exit through the “secret entrance” to get back to the room.

Maybe not at VGC- I just remember Bambi but not which rooms. Thanks for the photo links!

That gets me excited. We somehow snagged 6 nights at VGC during July 4 week. Really looking forward to it. We stayed at VDH (own there) last year for our first DLR trip.

Follow up to my earlier post, cause I am now more excited.....our waitlist for the 2 nights at the beginning of our trip at VGC somehow actually came through so now we get to stay at VGC for 8 nights. As a non-owner there I can say with 100% certainty that I never thought that would happen.

I was just over on Facebook and someone staying in a week and a half was notified their 1-bedroom VGC room would be unavailable. They are moving them to a premium view room on the hotel side. Sounds like it's a regular sized room. And no club level. What a serious downgrade! I would be so upset to lose a 1-bedroom....the laundry, the kitchen, the 2 bathrooms. Horrible!

I definitely would be calling to get at least club level since you lose the ability to cook inside your room.

Yes, it is the laundry, the kitchen, and the 2 bathrooms, but it's also the extra space, the separation, the seating, etc. that comes with a 1BR unit. Comping access to the club takes care of the kitchen issue (to an extent), but it still doesn't make up for the lost space that I "paid" for.

Maybe a hotel room with access to the club lounge now and a refund of points of the difference between a 1bd and 2bd…. depending on the party size.

If not then give them 2 studios at VDH and club level access there….

I double checked and it was DVC Fan. The poster was asking about a premium view room on the hotel that he was being asked to accept since his 1 bedroom villa at VGC was not going to be available. He wanted to know if it would include Club level as he was researching and thought premium view rooms included that, but most felt that would be a different level and he should call back and ask for it. Nothing about points being refunded.
