Review The Sheraton Vistana Resort Thread (key links on p.1)

Quick help needed please- does anyone know if there is a place to use a computer/printer on site? I feel like I remember seeing a printer in the marketplace but I’m not sure. Heading there Saturday (hooray!) and realizing my daughter may need to print a few things for math class while we are there…. Thanks!!

We check in Friday! Back in the day they had a whole business center in the cascades complex, I think. I need to call them to link a reservation in a few minutes. I will ask and post here.

Thanks! I’ve been trying to get through to concierge but they aren’t available

I talked to the live agent. Who was able to link my 1 night with my 1 week, no problem.

She said the business center is now where you check in. I asked if my friends daughter could print a math assignment and she said no problem. Good luck!

Amazing, thank you!! I told my daughter earlier that my friend from my Disney group was going to check for us and she couldn’t believe how nice that was!!

Hope you have an awesome time!!! ♥️

If you see a couple in their mid-50s having fun trying to keep up with their 13 year old somewhere in the cascades/spas/falls area, please say hi! I’m Heather :)

My boyfriend and I will be staying there for the first time in February. Is it possible to plug in a Chromecast device into the television?

It can be done depending on your unit. The positioning of the TV (and they are permanently affixed) in our villa's living room makes it hard to reach the HDMI ports, but the other 2 TV's in the bedroom are accessible. YMMV based on the layout.

Interestingly, the older Bose sound system in ours doesn't have an HDMI connection. Not all units have exactly the same technology.

It's been along time since I've used II.
I have a week booked at Sheraton Vistana Resort(VIT) with II Getaway and it did not ask for the number of people for the reservation. Is it because I booked a 2bedroom,sleeps 6 private,8 max. ?
Is code VIT = Cascades or Lakes??

My understanding is it is run of the house when you Sheraton Vistana Resort... Our recent getaways stay was in Fountains in a 2 BR.

When you book Getaways you indicate the number of people in your search but then the results show you the max sleeping capacity. I can't recall if VIT is for Cascades and Lakes or the opposite. In any case, if your unit sleeps 8 max they can place you any phase except Falls and Courts as those only sleep 6 max.

maybe a silly question: would this resort be OK to stay at without a car??
We are happy to use ride share.

Visiting theme parks other than Disney for this portion of the trip, just wondering how practical it would be as it seems to be a bit out of the way.

Was there in both April and March and abandoned my DH, who had the car to go to theme parks earlier. Only used Uber, Lyft may have been a little cheaper. I was in Springs, and went to entrance gate close by to avoid drivers getting confused. Never waited more than 7 minutes. Cost for comfort was between 10 and 20 for disney theme parks. Universal would be a bit more . Overall car rental might be a bit cheaper, but you cannot beat convenience of not having to park and the cost of parking

thank you, this info is really helpful.
We will be visiting mainly Seaworld, Aquatica, Gatorland and the outlet mall during this time, spending a few resort days by the pool etc.

Is anything in walking distance? Cheapish family restaurants? Grocery Store? I can google map it but sometimes things look walkable but they really aren't.

I'd be looking at getting the "smaller" 1 bedroom villa

If you don’t mind walking about a mile, you have Bahama Breeze, Golden Corral, Saltgrass steakhouse, and it looks like a BJs brewhouse Also McDonalds, Wendy’s and Chikfila. The Walgreens has some basic stuff. You will want to rideshare to Publix for full shopping. There is a marketplace at Vistana with some supplies, but phenomenally overpriced.

We walked a half hour to Walmart (or was it Target?) from SVR one day. There were a bunch of other shops and restaurants in that area if I recall correctly. Safe, but long walk.

Thank you, that's not too bad of a walk I'd be happy with that. I'm deciding between this resort and HGVC Seaworld.

You're going to have more within easy walking distance at SVR than HGVC Seaworld. Outside of Seaworld, there isn't much else within a quick walk of the resort. SVR is in a much more congested tourist corridor. So there are a lot more restaurants and such nearby.

Hi—I’ve read a good deal of this thread but hoping to get the latest thoughts on which section to request. We will have my mother with us who has limited mobility, and we’re planning on using Uber to get around so looking for the best option close to an Uber pickup point and without stairs. We also have little kids so would be great to be close to a kid-friendly pool, though that’s secondary to ease of access to pickup and having a nice unit (recently renovated would be great too haha). Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
