This may seem kind of like a stupid question, but how is the T-Rex restaurant? I've been to Rainforest Cafe and liked it, and I believe both are owned by the same company, so I would imagine the food is the same (or similar). Anyone eat there? What are your thoughts? Any pictures you could share of the restaurant? Thanks all!

I've eaten there. No pictures to share, but I will say the restaurant is HUGE (I think it seats 600 people?). So, even though the line was long, my party got seated within minutes, even just walking up, and this was Thanksgiving Weekend! It's extremely loud inside. Not so much the noise of patrons, but every 1/2 hour is a meteor shower, and it gets a little tiring after the first couple of times.

Food was very good, much better than Rainforest, and I found the portions to be very large. My friend's wife ordered the nacho appetizer, and it was enough for 3 people! Prices were decent -a little higher than average, but that's expected given where the restaurant is.

I'd go back, no question!

Like the other user mentioned... it was very loud. Not only during the metero shower, but for our entire meal. We actually used napkins and pens to communicate because we could not hear each other over the table.

I was there when it was still new (in December for lunch), but the wait for our food was very very long, even though we had next to no wait to get in.

I was unimpressed with the food, I thought Rainforest was better, but I bet it depends on what you order.

I think the theming of two rooms, but not for the other two. Unfortunately I was in the water room, which is my least favorite, so that bummed me out and also hurt my experience.

I do not anticipate going back soon as my other friends also had negative experiences. I expect they'll be able to iron out some of there errors with time, so I may venture back in 6 months or a year.

Ok forgive my ignorance but I have not heard of this restaurant. My son is really into Dinosaurs so I think this might be a possibility. Is it oart of Disney property?

Here are some pictures of TRex from last month:

Very much like Rainforest. Lots of food, although the menu wasn't that exciting to us. I would guess that boys would totally LOVE this restaurant, my girls thought it was cool, but liked Rainforest better. I think they tolerated the thunderstorm better in Rainforest than the Meteor show in T-Rex. You can use any coupons you have for Rainforest at the T-Rex, though, and you get 10% off your bill if you are a DVC member!

There are pictures in my blog.

It's very very similar to the rainforest cafe except instead of monkeys there are dinos. We loved it. We ordered a meal for my daughter and I split a sandwich with my husband. It's expensive but the food is big so you can easily share. We didn't have a wait at all which was nice.

I've moved this thread to the Disney Restaurants board. :)

I'm sorry. I don't know half of these boards exist! There are so many that it's hard to remember them all!

Thanks all for your opinions. I think I'll give it a try next time I go, but I'll have to learn sign language in the mean time apparently! Thank you all!

UGH! The pictures reminded me one one thing -my friends and I got the table right next to that dinosaur sticking out of the wall. So, the ENTIRE MEAL we had people bringing their kids up, taking pictures (nice have a flash going off in your eyes constantly!), squeezing by our chairs, etc. Highly annoying.

We really enjoyed our meals. I ordered a chicken sandwich that was really good. I can't remember what everyone else got. We loved it. Yes it was a little loud but we all enjoyed the atmosper. No I wouldn't pick this resturant if you are planning a get together with people you haven't seen in a while because yes it can be hard at times to hear each other.
Here are the few pictures I have on my computer
