Survivor Thailand! (Possible Spoilers)

I LOVE Jeff doing the Live show, too!!... He did a great job!!

I am with Ted, the lesser of two evils...
Out of all of the Survivors, this is the one that I probably enjoyed the least... For some reason, I can't explain, they all stilll seem like "strangers" to me...

Oh well, can't wait for February!!!!

Tulirose, I think Jeff did a good job w/ the reunion too. And I'll be watching in Feb..

Helen played the game pretty well till the end. Why didn't she go to Jan before TC?!! And for her to get so mad at Brian for doing essentially the same thing that she did to Ted...

Clay sealed his fate. He didn't try hard enough for the final votes, IMO. I came around to hoping he would win too. Brian was just too arrogant to me.

Did anyone else notice that TED SCREWED UP in the final vote??? He voted for B (Brian) but his commentary as he stuck the paper in the container made it sound like he was voting AGAINST Brian and not for him.

Had he voted correctly (writing down the name he voted FOR meaning Clay) then Clay would've won the million!!!

ivanova, not really. He said at the very end, that brian was the lesser of the 2 evils.

I was confused to till he said that.

What a disappointing season. These last two both have been, actually. I want another Australia!!

I do think of those around after Jake was voted off, Brian was the most deserving. He did play the game the best, even if I don't like *how* he played it. Jan didn't play, she just rode. Clay... bah. He thought he was playing, but again, he really just rode. Helen... she just got on my nerves. And Ted was okay, but he didn't really play well either. Brian was the best player.

But, frankly, I didn't really like *anyone* this season but Jake and Shianne. And those were mostly marginal.

I'll probably watch next season, at least to start out with, but I'm really getting disappointed with Survivor. :(

But I *did* really enjoy the way they seamlessly (almost) moved from the TC area to the studio floor, and having Jeff host the reunion show. He should do the rest. It was the only reunion show I actually enjoyed.

Brian played the hardest and won deservingly.
I think he's a snake but he kept the prize in
mind and went for it with total determination.
Good thing for him Jan was so confused...
she could have turned the thing around twice.
Her brain damage from alcohol was pretty telling
when she didn't even remember Helen asking her
to go with Helen and Ted! It was on TV-didn't she
watch?! Makes me glad I barely drink anymore,
don't want to end up a drunk on some reveal all
TV show!!!! LOL!

I think the reason Helen sat there like a stone saying, "no, sir", "no sir", "yes sir"...is because she was nervous/afraid Jeff was going to ask why she made up a story about Clay making a racist comment against Ted. If she hadn't made that up, Clay would have been the winner.

I wonder if Brian's wife punched him in the nose because of his chauvinistic attitude. I know it would take all I had not to whollop him.

I couldn't make up my mind which snake was less evil. I was happy to let the jury make the decision. We know that Helen would have changed her vote but I wonder if any of the others would have changed their votes too after seeing the whole series of shows.

I also questioned if the jury were allowed to talk about the show after they were voted out or if they were under some sort of signed agreement that they couldn't converse about what went on. I guess Ted answered my question when he said that he and Helen talked about Clay being a racist.

Could February get here quick!

I couldn't understand why Jeff didn't ask Helen what racist comment Clay made. Ted said he felt Clay was a racist based on something Helen told him and Jeff didn't ask Helen or Ted what she said. All Jeff said to Ted was you based your vote on hearsay and Ted said yes. I believe Ted would have voted for Clay if not for what Helen said. I couldn't believe they didn't explore that issue more since Clay would have won the money if Ted had voted for him.

It's over...and I must say that this season I'm actually happy. I'm ready for a new cast in the Amazon. From their little preview it sounds like there may be some interesting changes, again. I agree with almost everyone said to this point. One, this cast did nothing for me. Two, Brian won and I guess I would have had to vote for him too because he worked harder than Clay. Next, I must say that Helen's speech was 100 times better than Susan's from the original survivor. I was cheering her on the whole time! Jan could have changed the whole outcome of the game if she would have had a brain of her own. If I were Helen I'm not sure I could be so forgiving. I think my favorite to date was Australia followed by Africa. This particular one has to be my least favorite due to the casting but one of my favorites as far as location.

The only people I liked were Jake & Shi-Ann. I had a hard time getting into this Survivor because I missed a lot of the early episodes due to family problems, so I attributed it to that, but it sounds like lots of people felt that way.

I don't think I would have had the stomach to write either name down. They are both awful and Brian is the worst person to ever win Survivor IMO.

Neleh interviewed Brian on our local news last night right after the show ended. He said he expected to win and would have been mad if he didn't. He said he knew the younger people would vote for Clay because they were too stupid but the older people would consider how well he played the game even if they didn't like him. What a jerk.

Did you notice how at the end when everybody usually swarms the winner with hugs it was only Jan who went to Brian?

Its so frustrating that everyone just let Brian run the show and make all the decisions. I was pulling for Helen or Jan to win last night but that would have taken a miracle. I wish the final couple of immunity challenges had given them all an equal opportunity to win and not something so physical that it gave Brian a huge advantage.

OK, I think alot of us are missing the point. If Brian and his wife are splitting up, then SHE is actually the winner. She's rid of the snake and she'll get a bunch of the money. :p

What was the point of showing Stephanie's video entry? Was it the producers trying to subtly imply that they want to see more naked videos of women?

I still wish Clay won, but ONLY because I drew his name out of the hat in our office pool. If I didn't have a vested interest in it, I'd have been pulling for Jeff to make the announcement that the country outvoted the jury and no one would win the $1MM.

Did anyone else notice that during the reunion show there wasn't much focus on Brian? He just won the $1M, and they practically ignored him!

I was kind of disappointed at the outcome - I really wanted Helen to win, but when it came to choosing between Brian and Clay, they're both slimy snakes. I'm glad the jury made the decision, not me, because I don't think I could have made a choice.

I liked Jeff hosting the reunion show - hope he does all the rest! He knows the people and he knows just what to ask.

Now I just have to figure out what to do with my Thursday nights until February. Can't watch Friends with the kids around. Time to break out the cross-stitch!!

RUDisney - you are absolutely right that Brian's wife is the winner! I'd heard that they had problems and she was ordered to stay away from him, and yet they showed her in the audience cheering when he won. No wonder she was happy he won - she'll get part of that million!!

I was actually pulling for Clay to win but feel that they both played the game well, just in different ways. I thought that the whole idea was to vote for the best player of the game, not who you favored. So even though I prefered Clay, I would have voted for Brian because I feel he was the best player. And he played everyone.

Now just because I would have voted for Brian doesn't mean I liked him. I can't stand a liar. He was lying through his teeth even in the final hour.

Did anyone on the jury vote for the best player irregardless of the way they felt about that person?

I agree with what Jeff said when he compared Brian to Richard Hatch. But I prefer Richard Hatch's method of openess. Since its too late for the Amazon group, maybe the group after that will learn something from this one. But then, have you seen anyone that has learned anything from the previous groups?

I saw a couple of updates on prior Survivor castaways. Vecepia is 5 months pregnant and Sarah, this was the real shock, she is getting her masters degree and is starting to teach 4th grade!!! Wow!

I hardly recognized some of the castaways last night. Stephanie looked totally different and so did Ghandia.

I don't know whether it was because it was Brian and Clay in the finals or that creeyp shot of the anaconda snake in the Amazon, but I had nightmares of snakes all night!!!

LOL Suzanne! I'm sorry you had nightmares, but that's just too funny (and appropriate -- snakes for Brian and Clay)

Kirby -- yes: Helen I think voted for who she thought was the best player even though she wasn't at all happy with Brian. And, yes, this group did learn something, I think. Someone mentioned that they didn't force a tie at one point because they didn't want to draw rocks to determine who left, so they changed the vote they wanted to make. The question is, did they learn that from the previous season, or was that just explained to them?

On a totally different subject:

Did anyone catch Shii-Ann's comment about "throwing" the pyramid competition in order to get rid Jed. In retrospect, you have to wonder why any team would want to get to tribal council before a merger just because they hate one of their members. That action was yet another turning point in Survivor 5. Had they won that competition, the balance of power would have been in favor of Sook Jai at the time of the merger. It could have been a whole new ballgame.

I agree with you Liz. Shi-Ann made the fatal mistake of assuming there was a merger of course and hearing that they threw the pyramid competition was just stupid. Why didn't they wait until they actually LOST something.

There were so many ways the tide could have turned, esp with Jan standing up to Brian and Clay and working with Helen (who I liked until last night, she was SO annoying and condescending). The tie in votes could have made a huge difference in the outcome. It was like Jan wasn't playing at all. She was flying beneath the radar. That may have worked for Tina, but it hasn't worked in any Survivor since then.

I agree that at least with Richard, you KNEW he was playing but Brian was just sleazy.

Looking forward to the Amazon edition!
