Stolen Strollers?

Nah not gonna ruin anything of mine … it’s been confirmed that this thievery is happening … now it’s up to me to ensure it doesn’t happen to me or if it does then a price will be paid on the thieving end …. Have a magical day
Enjoy your vacation on stroller patrol! Not at all needed, but if that’s how you want to spend your time, go for it.

Hearing stories of strollers being stolen inside the parks? Is this really a thing? We will be taking our first trip with our new granddaughter this year and will be using a stroller for the first time in many years. I understand it’s not wise to let anything of value unattended in a stroller but to completely steal the entire stroller? Come on man! We supposedly live in a society!
We have AirTags that are in locks. We attach one in a visible place on the stroller and usually we will leave the diaper bag on it to with a lock as well.

Those that say bring a $5 umbrella stroller instead of a rolls Royce are in effect saying it’s a fact of life
No, they are offering a solution to the paranoid concerns of some internet trolls.
Idk my phone tells me when an AirTag is nearby … even a thieving vermin could figure out where the AirTag that suddenly showed up on his phone after stealing an item might be …. Now when the savage thief decides to rifle through my stuff to find it could be a very interesting turn of events for him or her … Do you eat the food you leave lying around unattended? Interesting gamble … have a magical day

You only get the air tag warning if the unknown air tag is tagging along for hours.

The air tag suggestions were to help locate a stroller which moved or if you forgot where you left it. Also offered as a suggestion to the paranoid who fear theft

It’s not really that hard for someone to keep their thieving fingers off other folks property during a visit to an amusement park … the fact some pass this BS off as a fact of life and not a big deal is both sad and appalling….
They're not telling you it's a fact of life, they're not acting like victims either. They're telling you it doesn't happen often and you're overreacting. Get a grip.

You're already too worried about it. You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than having your stroller stolen. And good luck finding the thief if it does happen. As others have said, there are thousands and thousands of strollers at Disney every single day and 1 or 2 people on a message board say they know of a stroller theft that happened in the last 10 years but can't prove that the stroller was intentionally stolen or mistakingly moved. So tie a unique scarf to the handle of your stroller, put an Airtag in it (but realize that thieves know to look for those and toss them aside), and don't leave valuables in it when you go on a ride. You're so worried about it happening to you that you're going to be sure it was stolen whenever you come out of a ride and the stroller isn't in the exact spot you left it-- which is going to be every time. If you want to worry about something, think about all the alleged reports of housekeeping stealing things out of the rooms. There are FAR more reports of that happening (again, no proof in most cases) than strollers being stolen. Have a great trip.

This! And even cases of housekeeping stealing are often wrong (I was a resort FD manager at WDW, too - did lots of things there). Most of the time, the Guest misplaced the item. Not always, but most. And if it was suspected that it was housekeeping, we worked with security to set the housekeeper up. There are a lot of urban legends about WDW out there in the world of social media.

I’m good fatman, go back to worrying about where in ‘the world’ to find the best chicken nugget or fanciest popcorn bucket … have a magical day

OP, I'd love to know, as I'm sure others do too, what you have planned for the thieves if they do try and steal your stroller?
Now if I announce my preventative measures that wouldn’t be prudent … ever see the blue man group?

When it actually happens as you have admitted it’s no longer urban legend …

How do you protect your food from squirrels? I’ve seen them in action, and I’m about to have a stroller at WDW for the first time in 30 years of visits, so I’m interested to know!
I would caution about leaving any food unattended at Disney or any place else including your workplace kitchen fridge … you would be shocked at what some get their jollies doing to other folks food, drink, containers, utensils etc …. There are sick sick people out there

It’s it a soft side cooler. I am not talking about open bags of chips. Don’t think squirrels know how to use a zipper.

I think the internet brings out the paranoia.

Have strollers ever been stolen? Yes. Does it happen regularly? Absolutely not.

Just like people aren't standing around kidnapping kids from their parents' hands, so you won't be needing to lock your child to your wrist with a phone cord, either.

Ok fine. Then lock your kids to your wrist if it makes you feel better.

But back to the strollers. The internet makes people believe that there is an issue when there is not.
