I know there has been many posts about the scents used at Disney Resorts. Even though SSR is not our home resort, we just love this resort! When we were there last month I wanted to see if I could find/take a picture of the scent machine located in the lobby. We walked through the vestibule and there it was!!! It was crowded and I couldn't take a picture without blocking someone or having them in my picture. Thinking I would make it back to get the picture later, we moved on! Well, I didn't get back. Does anyone know what the brand of machine is and what "flavor" Scent is used?? Thanks, greatly appreciated.

Wow, I missed that this was happening. I’m extremely allergic to fragrance and hate hearing they are deliberately pumping scent into the lobby. I hope they leave the villas alone and don’t mess them up with scent.

Virtually all Disney resorts (and theme parks) pump in the scents via essential oil diffusers. Think the smell as you walk down Main Street, that is fake and pumped in to the park.

I believe they use ScentAir and they do have non-commercial machines and scents you can buy (though the Disney scents are probably "special" and unavailable for purchase directly). But I would say for a machine an essential oil diffuser is what you are looking for. More specifically if you can find waterless diffusers and oils that work with them they work best. Bowes Signature Candle does sell scents that are pretty darn close to the lobby smells and they have a waterless diffuser and oils for some scents. I have yet to do research yet to see if the waterless diffusers can use any of the essential oils or does it have to be something different.

Edit: https://scentair.com/fragrances.html?scentair_fragrance_experience=16623 Green Clover & Aloe is Grand Floridian I think (a few other resorts too). If you google ScentAir and Disney there are some posts about people mapping them. Like Walk in the Woods is most similar to WL.

They've been using resort-specific fragrances for several decades (there are almost a dozen companies that sell fragrances and candles and waxes that mimic the scents). And, as mentioned above, the fragrances of baked goods and candy have been pumped out onto Main Street (and elsewhere) go even further back to at least the '80's.

I hope you don't have a problem now that you know. You shouldn't, as was said, they've been pumping scent into parks and resorts for at least forty years.

Thanks.
It’s funny…I usually have a reaction just being anywhere but my house so it’s all about degree. 😉 I use a mask as necessary to try to keep it from getting out of control. Just don’t want to mask up in the villa/hotel room if possible. It’s the price I pay for having that type of allergy. 😁 I wouldn’t wish it on anybody because it’s a big hassle.
