Yep - tradition since I was a kid. At one point, my Dad's, Mom's and mine were all named after queens of England.

Yes I do and her name is Veruca, named after Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

My current car is Veruca 4.
How did I come up with this name? My GPS about 15 years ago was taking me a really stupid way to where I wanted to go. When I temporarily deviated from HER way it was constantly telling me “recalculating” and something else that I can’t remember, like a brat, and I said, “Shut up Veruca!” and it stuck. I don’t know if I just saw the movie or read the book, but my cars will forever be……Veruca

Actually, I've never named my cars. They've always been referred to by model.. the Soul, the Cruiser, the CRV, etc. However, DD has always named her cars; our PT Cruiser became the Nugget when she took it over because it was gold, her current vehicle is Elsa because it's pale silvery blue like Elsa's dress. She's the one who got us started on naming my new car! Right now, I'm thinking Pippi, as in Pippi Longstocking, because of the color.

I’ve never named a car, but our rv is named “Stickers”. My sister had told me we needed to name it, and I responded “why?”

But shortly after, we were washing it and I realized the decorative swirls on the front cap were decals, not paint. So, “Stickers”, like Lightning McQueen.

Never did until we bought a car with an App that had a name field.

We now have Smurfette, Clifford the Big Red Car, and Blueberry. And since the new ones with Apps had names, the truck was retroactively named Dead Dad Truck.

Yes, my car's name is Frances. My husband's car is Grimace. All our GPS apps collectively go by the name Edith.

No, not really, not like you mean. We do refer to them and "your car" and "my car" and refer to them by the make/model. DH's Toyota Camry is always referred to as "the Toyota" and my Mazda CX30 is always referred to as "the 30. I'm not sure why we say it that way, maybe because DH has had a series of Toyotas (3 over the past 12 years) and I go for a new make just about every time my vehicle is replaced. :confused3

I didn't name my vehicle, my then 8 year old did. He decided that my new bright blue minivan that is much faster than my old one needed to be named Sonic. My wife and I along with my best man and his wife did feel the need to name our GPS though. The third time it told us to make a U turn on a one way street in Chicago my replied, "Shut up Betty" and that name has stuck, even though it's been 16 years and more than a couple of GPS devices since then. Now when I'm driving and it tells me something I'm already well aware of, it gets a "Yes dear" and when it screws something up, it gets a "Damn it Betty."

I don’t, but know people who do. A friend of mine calls her car Rupert, which comes from the random letters on her license plate, RPT.

I feel like the only reason to name a vehicle is if there is an event that leads to it haha.

My sister has named both of her vehicles.
First she has a Pontiac G6 GT with a panoramic sunroof and its a sporty looking car.
She got a speeding ticket in it within 6 weeks of having it and she didn't even realize she was going too fast.
So its name is "speedy".
Second she has a Ford Escape and it has the full screen and backup camera etc. Well the screen kept going from day mode to night mode on and off as she was driving. So she ended up calling it "Stitch with a glitch". Turns out its just due to when you are driving by trees or buildings that block the sunlight for a second.
The car is blue and Sitch is one of her favorite characters so it just made sense.
I even bought her a little Stitch to set in the cupholder lol.

But just getting a car and picking a name for the heck of it seems a little silly.

I don't name our cars, but our daughter always does! When she was three, she named our mini-van, "vanny," and now my red car is called "Rosie." She calls my husband's convertible the "crazy car." Definitely child-driven and child-like names, but they make us laugh.

Most of mine have had names. It started with my first car in HS I called Skippy. My current car is named Pretty 2.0 for no other reason than she’s pretty and she’s the second car in a row I’ve called Pretty.

My car is named Ariel. The color is called Sea Glass Pearl and it’s kind of a cross between blue and green, depending on the light.

I haven’t. My younger son named his first car. It’s his baby - the car he’s wanted since before he could drive. A ‘hot hatchback’, Mazda Speed3. He named is Sheila - no idea why.

No I’ve never named my cars.

Which leads me to an add on question. If you drive a SUV or crossover do you still call it a car? I just got a Trailblazer, which is a SUV. I find I call it my “Trailblazer” because calling it a car seems weird.
