Something About Nothing............ #14

I just got some maybe bad, maybe not, news. I had my annual mammogram a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been invited back for more testing. I have that scheduled for March 5. I appreciate prayers and well wishes.

All good wishes sent your way Charade, hopefully it`ll be something and nothing.

Meeting went well, loads of laughs and in for around 3 and a half hours, then fish and chips back here. Kyle left for home about an hour ago, we all enjoyed dinner together.

Some tv and early night I think, going to be wild and woolly tomorrow, high winds forecast but not cold. Think we`ll be shopping in the morning, then not much else planned.

Another cup of tea time I think :)

Quick Thursday pop in!

Things have settled at bit at work. I feel like I can take a breather for a few minutes. Next week we have a big wave of people that we are pushing through to start treating. I am not sure where or how the backlog happened, but it will be a busy week of extra appointments to get the backlog of patients started on their treatments. I am alone almost all week next week - except for Monday one of the casual gals will be working with me. It's been a long week by myself of being the cruise director for all the patients coming in.

Weather is still bitterly cold. My barometer brain feels the shift moving in, but my body can't wait for the warmer weather to come. I am thinking I may whip up some cookies again tonight. I need to find something to do tonight. I can't do another evening of just sitting. I'm not going to the gym in the evenings when it's -30ish. NOPE...not happening. I want to be there and getting more steps in, but won't drive there in this cold weather.

I took out some cod for dinner tonight. I am not sure how I'm going to make it yet - I may just do a light crushed corn flake breading and bake in the oven along with some roasted tatters and probably broccoli and maybe a salad.

I see flurries now. Let the “storm” begin.
I hope you don't get too much accumulation.
Can you believe the end of that race? We were just hoping Byron would finish in the top 10.
It was an amazing win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both dh and I were sitting and anxiously waiting - for that last big crash that ALWAYS happens on those last few laps! It was a great race. I don't think we have watched a race where they were driving 3 wide for most of the race! We definitely missed watching during the off season. We are happy it is back again.
Well… unbelievable… but woke up and see snow outside.

I am speech less……
I am MORE than willing to share some of my snow and cold weather  It's good Mr. Mac went to out as you have enough for the next few days so you can just stay home. Stay warm!!!!!! and Cuddle with Mr. Mac and the cats :flower:
cuppa time and the sun is shining, looks lovely out there now, might even wear a lighter jacket instead of a heavy winter coat for the first time in weeks!
I am still wearing the big parka :cold::sad: By the weekend it will be nearing the 0C/32F temps which will feel like I should break out the shorts and flip flops after this cold snap we have had.
I just got some maybe bad, maybe not, news. I had my annual mammogram a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been invited back for more testing. I have that scheduled for March 5. I appreciate prayers and well wishes.
I will be sending you lots of healing light!!!! I tell people everyday not to worry - because you can't do anything until the testing/imaging/lab work is done - but it is our nature to worry.

Well, I have more task I want to get done yet today. So I will get that done.

Have a great day everyone!!!

We didn’t break thru the teens today, already in single digits. Supposedly, up to near 40 degrees Sunday. Counting on it, I’m planning on grilling some steaks.

Did all the tax returns sitting upon my desk yesterday & today, 10 hours I’ll never get back. Hope to not look at another until next year. Ours was so much easier at least this year. Had no idea that the first year after retirement’s would be such a beast…forms, on top of forms. Easy-peasy now

He said the large, and very old, machine company was fully engulfed in a fire, almost an hour after I went to bed.
Saw that fire on TV, looked like hell on earth. Scary stuff.
Well, depending on which forecast you look at, we could have anywhere from 1-8 inches of snow tomorrow.
Talk about casting a wide net
What`s a pickled cube??
A type lol. Mean to say “cuke” for cucumber
Along with some buns - that were HUGE
Ok, nobody else took the bait.
IMG_6716.jpeg

we do have a trip to Scotland before that for my lovely mum`s 90th birthday party, a very special one indeed :cheer2:
Willing to be it will be one of her most memorable ones!
I think Virginia Beach is going to get the worst of it this time.
Saw the snow on the beach today too! That is wild.
Mr Mac did late night run to Publix, also Walmart last night at 10 o’clock.
Glad he did….
Never part of that bad weather panic run. I’m the sort to buy in bulk. When we really used to get a lot of heavy snow, would keep a half gallon of milk in deep freeze JIK.

Did plenty of impromptu shopping runs during covid tho, when I heard certain hard to get items would show up. Would you believe it’s still difficult to find a half or even a whole ham here, same with split, bone in chicken breasts?
rather wait for when ever we get sunshine and just let it melt away.
No sidewalks is a good thing. Here, there are ordinances snow has to be cleared within 24 hours. I’ve never heard them actually ticketing anyone.

there’s a snow angel program here people can sign up for, people adopt their sidewalks when it snows.
I appreciate prayers and well wishes.
Oh, try not to worry, hugs. That’s a scary situation to go through.

Do they do digital ones in your area? Most I know get to a certain age and need an ultrasound to “map out” the lumps and bumps that tend to form.

Prayers sent your way.
Both dh and I were sitting and anxiously waiting - for that last big crash that ALWAYS happens on those last few laps!
I sort of lost my taste for racing after watching the 2001 race where Dale. At least they mandated that device to protect the drivers, no others have perished since in a race…as far as I know.

Good morning. I’m trying to get motivated to get up and do something productive. Today is sunny and warmer, so most of our snow should be gone soon.

It is supposed to be a little cooler for the next number of days, but I will take upper 60’s low 70’s.
I would love those temps right now.

Cooling down to 50’s in evening in Orlando.
If it’s still like this in 2 weeks I will need to take a jacket. I might even buy a new Disney hoodie. I still have a gift card one if the therapists gave me for Christmas in 2023.

Are you doing this one as a gift or is it for you, it always sounds such a tranquil hobby.
This one is for me, but will take a long time to complete. I also have a few smaller projects lined up. Two for me and one for dh.

I can't do another evening of just sitting. I'm not going to the gym in the evenings when it's -30ish. NOPE...not happening.
Do you have anything at home you can use? I have something that is like an elliptical, but it is seated. I just need to start using it again.

I tell people everyday not to worry - because you can't do anything until the testing/imaging/lab work is done - but it is our nature to worry.
I haven’t said anything to B yet. I’m going to wait until after my appointment.

Did all the tax returns sitting upon my desk yesterday & today, 10 hours I’ll never get back.
That reminds me, I still need to organize our tax stuff and get it to the accountant.

Do they do digital ones in your area? Most I know get to a certain age and need an ultrasound to “map out” the lumps and bumps that tend to form.
I had a regular one at my last visit. I don’t know what they will do at this next one. They did mention the possibility of an ultrasound.

Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. The week before vacation is going to be a busy one. I have the follow up to my sleep study, the follow up to the mammogram, and my semi annual appointment with my primary care provider.

Kroger approved B’s request for time off, so we are all good to go on March 8.

Sounds like a busy week ahead, hope it all runs smoothly.

Nope that is far too cold to be going out at night, I know what you mean though, I get fed up if I`m sat on my butt for too long at times, need to go do something.

Yes, you`ll feel almost tropical after what you`ve had!!! After I wrote it was sunny and nice, we had a cloudburst and my goodness it forgot to stop, famous last words and all that!!

Have a good weekend :)

Charade, all of us are rooting for you that you will have clean bill of health.
Sending prayers that you will be fine.

Absolutely.

Well!! I`m quite disappointed in that now, thought it was something exotic I`d like to try lol....

We`re lucky where we are we very rarely get such atrocious weather we get snowbound but when we have had it bad in different parts of the country we`ve lived in, the milkman always made it through!!! Our country depends on them, if they don`t make it through, all is lost lol.

You are going to be busy which will make the trip come round a little faster looking on the positive side, worrying time though of course. Yes, with anything like that we never mentioned anything to anyone beforehand, especially Kyle, no need to worry them until necessary and hopefully not.

It certainly would pass a lot of time as it does take so much attention to detail for you, the end results are lovely though.

lol....love them meme`s!!

Well, we did have sunshine earlier, now it`s grey, raining and blowing an absolute gale here!! Although rain has just stopped now. Hope it improves for my nephew and wife coming on Sunday, it doesn`t look good that day.

Busy one today doing some shopping this morning, trying to find and new mirror for the hallway, it needs to be fairly large but I cannot find one that doesn`t look cheap and nasty, but equally I don`t want to spend over a thousand pounds for one, and she told me the price with a straight face!!! It looked as if it was made by Ikea!!! Nope, will keep looking.

This afternoon has been little jobs around the house and drying some laundry, not very exciting but I do have a Thai Chicken curry simmering away nicely for tonight, will make some coconut rice to go with it later.

And trying to read a book my friend gave me saying she couldn`t read it lol....I`ll give it a try but so far I`m struggling.

Pot of tea on the go now and maybe a little biccy to go with it, another couple of hours till dinner!!!

Hope you have a lovely Friday, still love that Friday buzz!!!!

Guess we were so lucky, Mid 80’s the two weeks were enjoyed that FLA weather. Seeing 50’s today there. Cold feeling for locals and those not, I’m sure.
Mid 80's sounds wonderful right now! Looks like you visited Orlando at the right time.
Meeting went well, loads of laughs and in for around 3 and a half hours, then fish and chips back here. Kyle left for home about an hour ago, we all enjoyed dinner together.
Your FA appointments sound much better than mine. She is very serious and never jokes, but a great FA.
It's been a long week by myself of being the cruise director for all the patients coming in.
I hope all goes well with all those patients. It must be frustrating to deal with all that alone. You deserve a vacation:)
Weather is still bitterly cold
Your weather sounds like ours! However, we are now at a balmy 12 degrees Above zero!!! We are going up into the 30's this weekend with lows above zero, so that's a move in the right direction. About now is when I dream of going outside without a coat, boots, hat, and gloves, LOL.
Did all the tax returns sitting upon my desk yesterday & today, 10 hours I’ll never get back.
One of the nice things about being retired is that we don't need to do tax papers anymore, unless something comes up to report. Congrats on getting it done:)
ad it bad in different parts of the country we`ve lived in, the milkman always made it through!!! Our country depends on them, if they don`t make it through, all is lost lol.
Wow, I didn't know that milkmen actually delivered milk anymore! Over here, that stopped in the 40 or 50's, I think. I dont' remember the milk man and I'm old, LOL.

We have another family birthday tonight to celebrate. It's my grandson's wife. We also get to see our newest great granddaughter who is about 4 months old now, and our GrtGrandson who is 2 1/2. Can't wait to see the little cuties:)
It seems we always have a family birthday to celebrate, and we have a big celebration for each one. Lots of fun and good food.

I went to town today and it was wonderful to Not have -30 or more to fight through. It is warmer, but still cold. I had on my lightest winter coat, scarf, gloves and boots, which is less than I have been wearing out lately:) It sounds depressing saying that...........

WE've been inside during this cold spell relaxing and watch movies, doing puzzles, reading, and Eating!!! I need to shed the winter pounds (that I put on to keep me warm,, LOL). I love to walk but there is snow and ice everywhere now. I don't like a treadmill even though I belong to a gym. I might start doing yoga again, if I can get up and down on the floor :rotfl2:Yoga takes some getting used to if you haven't done it for a while. I have got to do something but am not too motivated.

Have a great Weekend everyone.

Naw, takes a northerner to appreciate having multiple winter coats, boots, hats, gloves.

Have a heavy down one I’ve been using this winter. It’s been one of our roughest in years.

Prefer a light weight packable sort of puffer or same sort in vests over a heavy sweater or sweatshirt. They’ve been sitting in the coat closet.

Last week, had to break out the one that has a heavy fake fur lining. It’s wind resistant & also has a water proof exterior.

It can resemble a sauna if it’s not cold enough! I’ve worn it in pouring rain at football games and stayed dry…only because I also sport rain pants and winter boots for those days.

Not much going on for me today
Since I no longer work outside of the home, Every day is a Friday for me.

Yep, me too.....I "retired" very young and every day I was glad I did, not sure I`d ever have the time!!

Every day is like a weekend for sure :cheer2:

Well, we know them all really well and of course as Kyle works there, that brings an extra connection, but we just get on so well together and most of our meetings are filled with many off topic chats.

Milkmen are still thriving over here, we like using them for milk, butter, cream and occasionally cheese and yoghurts. A quick txt and we can add to our delivery and it`s a nominal charge they ask for delivery, pennies really. Some are struggling though as grocery stores are doing their best to oust them, we do what we can.

What a lovely celebration you have tonight Ruth!! And enjoy holding that baby, the older one too of course. Quite right, celebrate anything you can and birthdays are always lovely, family celebrations are hard to beat.

It`s still too cold here to walk properly yet, I feel your pain as you get it so much worse than we do, I`m still layered up even though it is getting milder, not sure it`ll last though, february could still have a sting to bite us with.

lol....I would not be good at yoga!!! I admire you that ability!!

Have a lovely time with family tonight Ruth :)

It`s funny we`ve all said over here it`s not been the worst winter we`ve had but it`s felt long because it`s just been cold or wet or windy or a mix of all three! I do love a thick winter coat though, can`t be beaten being all cosied up with white furry hat, big scarf and gloves!

Tidied out my study tonight, well cleared the bookshelves I have in there and sorted out some books for the charity store and some I put downstairs where the majority of my books are, I struggle to part with any of them, but there are slightly too many!!

Enjoyed our curry, and not long finished a very creamy hot chocolate, yes, cream and marshmallows on top too, lush!!

Pouring with rain outside tonight, wind has died down a little, but not the nicest of nights out there. Another early night I think, might watch some tv in bed and drop off watching something I`m sure.

Nothing like snuggling and cosying up on a night like this

Long, but semi productive day today. I was being very lazy this morning then B reminded me that she needed to drop
Her car off for its annual inspection and I had volunteered to take her to work.

Ah, nothing like hearing another helicopter buzzing around our house at 8 am this morning. Then 20 minutes later, local fire whistle blew. Then heard that fire truck flew by, the main road we turn into.
We have a neighbor who uses power tools (a saw maybe) almost on a daily basis. It gets quite annoying. I think it’s the jerk who lives behind me.

We have another family birthday tonight to celebrate. It's my grandson's wife. We also get to see our newest great granddaughter who is about 4 months old now, and our GrtGrandson who is 2 1/2. Can't wait to see the little cuties

You sound like my husband only he keeps talking about buying more books. He still has one his parents bought for him when he was a baby.

Yum! I need to make more hot chocolate before the cream goes bad.

I have a first world problem. Remember those cute mouse ears I got a few months ago? I can’t find them. They are not in the place where I usually keep stuff for trips. Tomorrow I will tear the house apart looking for them.
