Something About Nothing............ #14

Forgot to say, for those that do...ahem :rolleyes1....read the Trip Report, it is finally finished!

Took far too long but now I can put that trip to bed and start thinking about the next one, although we do have a trip to Scotland before that for my lovely mum`s 90th birthday party, a very special one indeed :cheer2:

Watching the local news.

Supposedly will have a winter mix with cold temperatures tomorrow.

All schools closed tomorrow due to the cold mix.
19 degrees for us means all will rush to get groceries tonight.

A lot of this is over kill…..

I will wait until tomorrow for the updated weather info.

As long as we are stocked up on cat food, we have no concern about tomorrow’s weather.

I can`t remember you ever having it as cold for so long since you moved there! I imagine you`ll be more than ready for some better weather to come and I know you`ll enjoy it!

Yes, if the kitties are happy, all is good!

Schumi, I did read your trip report!
It was fantastic and loved it.

Thank you mac, always appreciate the comments along the way :)

well it’s now going on to 2:00 and bedtime for me

See y’all when you wake in the morning!

sweet dreams to all…

Sleep well.

Another bitterly cold day here, but the sun is going to be shining I believe, right now -2 is our real feel and it looks it although it is very pretty to look at. Rain maybe tonight so tomorrow might be a little warmer.

Heading out some shopping this morning, just to a farm store and then the deli for fresh meat for lunch, they also sell these long rolls, very light though, a mixture of a hoagie and French Bread, very nice they are too. If you slightly toast them first they`re even nicer, so that`s lunch with some rare roast beef and beef tomatoes with a mustard mix dressing on top.

Dinner will be pork fillet in a hoi sin spicy mix and noodles (chow mein style) with some stir fried Pak Choi to go with it. No dessert tonight as Wednesday night is dance night with my boogie buddy! Ready for the aches tomorrow morning.

Slept a little later this morning, so once I had my shower I`m only on my first pot of tea, Tom is on his way down so breakfast coming right up. I`m making avocado on toast and Tom will poach me the perfect egg to go on top, he never gets one wrong!

Have a lovely Wednesday :)

Shelter in place still in effect, as concern about air quality. Trains not running to the two stations we use. Busing instead. Thankful not going on them yet. My local school and businesses are still closed today. So trash still in the curb. I hope all are allowed back open soon. Was frustrated on commute home, as almost all local roads I need to get home were blocked. This morning I saw a few open, hope that is the same tonight.

Ack, I guess all want to end earlier, so huge line to get into complex today. Like waiting another light due to the amount of cars waiting to get in. And ack. Car in my favorite spot. No matter, another almost favorite spot open, so parked there. But I do like the quiet I get in the early morning, as not as many in my building are in yet.

But who do I see?

IMG_4188.jpeg

Ah yes, at that mid point of the week already. And camel is here to say, get over this hump of a day feeling Wednesday, and Fabulous Friday is then a day away.

So like camel, good morning all. And yes, 15 degrees out, with wind chill feels like 7 outside. Cold weather this week. Now saying chance of snow ❄️ showers tomorrow. Yeah, even Thursday, high temp still below freezing. With those temps, any snow will not be wet looking. And that wind, still making it feel like even colder. Though even though I say February is our coldest month, today is 15 degrees lower than the average we should see for today. Brr. Is all I have to say. At least seems to show higher temps as we slide into next week. And, hair salon visit tomorrow. And should be open, as it’s not in my area zone of closed places. Glad, as feels like color needs refreshing. But at least my roots are more white now, so not as noticeable.

Wonderful Wednesday to all.

I woke up way too early this morning and haven’t been able to get back to sleep. So now I’m waiting for the snow to start.

Hope your afternoon goes faster, Charade. Guess just say, you will see snow tomorrow. Ours forecast says nothing to 20 percent chance of snow. Seems to be hugging the coast by the time it reaches me on Thursday.
I think Virginia Beach is going to get the worst of it this time.

Nascar and curling all weekend.
Can you believe the end of that race? We were just hoping Byron would finish in the top 10.

Weather is still bitterly cold. I didn't leave the house Sunday or Yesterday!!!! I wasn't moving.
I have told my husband that if we ever mover farther north I will go into hibernation for the winter.

All schools closed tomorrow due to the cold mix.
You gotta love south. Schools close with just the hint of snow. One time we were in Charleston, SC when snow was predicted. The forecast said it would start around 6:00 pm. The local schools had early dismissal that day.

I believe, right now -2 is our real feel
I hope that is celsius.

I see flurries now. Let the “storm” begin.

Well… unbelievable… but woke up and see snow outside.

I am speech less……

I did not believe the predictions last night….

I went to bed last night at 2:00
Looked out my window at 8:00 this morning, totally shocked…..

No cars on the road and doubt will see any as we don’t have much equipment to handle snow.

Mr Mac did late night run to Publix, also Walmart last night at 10 o’clock.
Glad he did….

Yes, Celsius.

Hope your storm isn`t too bad.

Heck, mac I think the North has found you and is sending you all this cold weather in case you miss it

Gosh yes, you`ll be glad you don`t need to go out grocery shopping today, I think the UK is the same we don`t have the capacity to deal with it when it`s bad most of the time.

Pretty to look at though, from inside the house ::yes::

I think it`s a little milder today than earlier this morning, anything is better than 0!!

Just finished lunch, going to spend the afternoon clearing out my hair and make up products, time for a refresh I think certainly with the make up. I usually stock up in Orlando but I could be doing with a few items now. And I need heat protecting spray for the hair, never normally run out of that, and probably a few drawers too to see if anything else can go to the charity store.....that really is something about nothing!!

Another cuppa first I think 🫖

I know many of you are use to winter weather, I was like that all my life until we moved south 9 years ago.
(we were glad to move out of Chicago)

I use to laugh when peeps down here would rush to the stores to stock up for the basic foods thinking they needed.
Scared they would run out of food when weather predictions were sent out.
Any predictions of snow sent most to stock up on food to cover a week.

Well, not laughing today……

Of course those that stocked up yesterday will be able to handle a few days staying at home.
Once our temperatures rise, it will be back to normal every day life.

My 2 cats always go out to our attached screen in porch each morning after they eat.

They lasted less than a minute this morning, haha…
Well really it was maybe two seconds….

Our attached screen in deck is totally covered in snow.
The porch is connected to the walk in kitchen.

Cats are perplexed and freaked out when they went to our porch this morning.
So their usual cat party will be in the living room today.

(I am so use to sit in our screened in attached porch each morning which is connected to the kitchen area.)
My morning routine changed to feeding the cats in the kitchen.
Cats were very confused about that….

Not a clue if all will clear up and be back to normal tomorrow.
Most likely it will.

Can’t see Lookout Mountain today which is a first for us.
Only view I get is fog.

Will just have a quiet day and watch tv maybe..

With the schools closed, kids in our neighborhood will be making snow men maybe….?

Kids get excited to see snow, parents don’t where we live.

Mac, that is so cold for where you live now. I remember when I was living in NC, and it barely snowed. Cars were driving, then off the road they went, so many of them. Not us, we still had our all season tires on, as we had just moved from up north. Poor cats and you with that snowy down south home. Hope your weather rebounds quickly.

So ready for lunchtime and office feels cool to me. Rather be home. Where I keep it warm. Too warm says older one. But he seems to think he’d move into to my snow bird house I sooner than later will buy. Guess that ac will be blowing in that house, year round. Well, until I’m staying there. Hehe.

It has been snowing steadily since 7:00. The flakes are really small though, so we haven’t got as much coverage as last week.

Poor B has to work today. It will probably be very slow at Kroger today. I promised her some hot chocolate when she got off shift.

Well… unbelievable… but woke up and see snow outside.
How much did you get? When I was a kid in Georgia we would always go nuts whenever we got a little snow. We would use anything we could find to make a sled.

I’m going to spend the rest of the day stitching. I am almost halfway through my project.

Charade we had snow coverage on the ground and on the porch.

No snow on the ground now but a section on the porch wants to call it home ….
Once the temperatures rise, that snow will be a thing in the past.

At 3:00 now, only have the lingering snow in our shaded area on the deck.

I could take the broom and sweep the snow off ….but a bit too cold for me.
I am not ready to bundle up and deal with the manual labor.

I rather wait for when ever we get sunshine and just let it melt away.

Getting a little warmer. 19 said the thermometer outside my door. Phone said wind chill still, so felt like 12 degrees. But high still below freezing. Thus, this cold weather still deserves a brr.

Quick enough ride into the city, though had to wait a few minutes to have my defroster work to remove the ice on my front windshield. Glad an ice scraper wasn’t needed.

And a little bit of sun before the clouds quickly rule the sky today. And no teleworking due to weather today. That early prediction of snow today is no more. That stormy conditions has now kept out to sea as it passes by us.

But glad to be able to turn off the alarm this morning. Thought week back, needed to have another 3 day weekend. Kids want to see a movie tomorrow. I’m game. Though lately, there hasn’t been much of anything, I really want to see at the movie theater.

Yay! Thirsty Thursday is here. It started with an office ugh. I had to change the water bottle, as it had sputtered and splashed as I tried to fill the hot water into my cup. Well, at least all using it today, me a second time soon, will get a steady stream for a while. Hot tea needed. Office still feels a bit cool, so open sweater over warmer feeling blouse. And wool pants.

But if ever a day to remember to hydrate your body, it’s today, a Thirsty Thursday. Drink up, as salute the fact that this week is almost over. Meaning, tomorrow is a Friday. Woot! And so, make it a Terrific Thirsty Thursday today.

Good Thursday morning Sans family :wave2:

FL weather is it's normal spring and fall bipolar self right now. Rain band associated with cold front just passing thru.
Had a great Valentine's, a little chocolate after a half day of work.
Have a great week everyone!
Good to hear you had a nice Valentines Day.

Going to be a little cooler next few days.

meant to say that I hope little J is doing much better. It's so hard to watch the little ones when they are so sick.
Thank you Ruth. He is doing better. It is hard to see the little ones so sick.

Glad the family are improving, good to hear they`re on the mend.

Yes, they should have let the family know there had been cases. But, to get a sinus infection on top seems very cruel on the little guy.

Hope your Sunday has been a good one.
Thank you Carole. Granddaughter M’s surgical site is almost completely closed now and daughter in law is in therapy and able to take some steps without her crutches. So good to hear they are progressing well.

Little J is doing a lot better.

Dinner was lovely, served the beef in ale with creamy mash and some veg, don`t need anything else but pot of tea later with some of that gorgeous shortbread.
Sounds like a yummy dinner.

Wow, such a rehab with that surgery. Best wishes to her
Thank you Janet. She is a trooper.

Woohoo! 40 is right around the corner
I Know it seems like it was only yesterday.

Busyish weekend. Went out and did all our shopping Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon and evening were spent being bossed around by the 5 yr old gd  We baked cookies, dinner was pizza ( her choice ) followed by a movie snuggling with Grammie and her ipad as dh was hogging the tv with hockey/Nascar and curling all weekend.
It is always good to have a little the one around to reminds us who is boss…..LOL..sounds like grammie was in heaven baking and spending time with her granddaughter.

It has been a winter filled with mystery this year. Unexpected cold and snow showing hop in areas where it has not been in years or ever for that matter.

Presently, its 32 degrees
Real feel at 28.
Stay warm Mac.

Up early as per my usual this morning.

It is supposed to be a little cooler for the next number of days, but I will take upper 60’s low 70’s.

Cooling down to 50’s in evening in Orlando.

Not much going on here. Lazy day today I think.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

Nothing like coming home to a hot chocolate when it`s really cold.

Are you doing this one as a gift or is it for you, it always sounds such a tranquil hobby.

Oh let it melt mac, far too cold to be going out if you don`t need to. It`ll disappear soon enough.

It’s snowing again.

Yikes!!

Getting a little milder here, we are in double digits although I haven`t actually been out yet, had a nice morning with a friend who popped round for a cuppa, chatted the morning away on the kitchen sofa`s, trying to talk her into joining myself and our other friend on our Salsa nights, but so far she`s not interested. Her idea of exercise is riding their horses!

Especially when she saw me groaning this morning about my poor knees lol.....we did a lot more last night and at speed too which was hilarious at one point, but we loved it.

This afternoon we have our bi yearly appointment with our lovely FA and Kyle sits in on the meetings too which is lovely, we have such fun as our FA thinks I`m hilarious somehow!!! But, we always stay longer than planned, but we get along really well with them. Then Kyle comes back to us for fish and chips from the chippie, tradition.

I have drank too many cups of tea today, but will have one more before we head out.

Found out my favourite nephew and his wife are coming to visit us Sunday, they`re doing the Norfolk Broads for a week, so coming to us on Sunday, should be here for dinner then stay overnight before driving to their accommodation and spending a week with their dog rambling around, can`t wait to see them. Most pubs here are dog friendly, so we`ll find one that suits to take them for a meal.

Yep, cuppa time and the sun is shining, looks lovely out there now, might even wear a lighter jacket instead of a heavy winter coat for the first time in weeks!

Have a lovely Thursday :flower1:

Ah the fun of driving home in a snow shower. Yeah, still snowing with it being 26 degrees out. At least not much sticking, and it’s very small flakes swirling in the wind. Had to use the windshield wipers a few times. Soon heading for my hair salon visit. Made it an hour later this time.

Guess we were so lucky, Mid 80’s the two weeks were enjoyed that FLA weather. Seeing 50’s today there. Cold feeling for locals and those not, I’m sure.

Also glad 8 more days this month. In March, we can still see snow, but it’s usually not as long staying around, as ground then starting to get warmer.

Hope all have a good night sleep. So happy to be lazy tomorrow.
