Has anyone ever stayed at the Solara Inn and Suites? We are looking for a place close to the entrance that is inexpensive but clean. We don't mind a short walk. We also just need a decent clean room (we always go rope drop until everyone leaves and we can take pictures with an empty main street). Just going for two days. This looks like a good choice, just not sure the best way to get to the entrance or parking lots (we would walk to the lots, not drive) from this hotel.

Hello Amyshubby,
I just looked at the Yelp reviews of Solara Inn And Suites and from what I read it has stellar reviews and it's a 10 minute walk to Disneyland but the reviews say that the fireworks can be loud if you are staying there. I did find an alternative hotel and that is Marriott Courtyard Theme Park Entrance and that hotel you can walk straight to Disneyland's main entrance easily and it's cheaper and better than the Solara Inn And Suites. So give this Courtyard hotel a call and ask if they are having any deals and you might just get lucky
Glad to be helpful and hope you have a fun trip

Ive personally stayed here multiple times even arriving late after midnight driving from the bay area. Always clean and safe rooms and friendly experience. I usually drive or uber so cannot comment on the walk.

The hotel looks super nice. I Googled the walking distance to both the parking lot and the entrance on S. Harbor Blvd. and in both cases it comes up as a 20-minute walk. That's a lot at the end of a long park day. How did you get a 10-minute walk?

That’s too far! IMHO

it’s 1.2 miles or a 25+ minute walk, probably closer to a half hour
That’s an hour of walking each day that’s not even in the parks!

Check the less expensive ones right across the street from Disneyland (or close to it’s possible)
Like Desert Inn and suites, Del Sol or Castle Inn and suites

Agreed. The Alpine Inn is another good budget hotel.

I've looked several times at the hotels/motels on Harbor north of I-5 (Solara/California Inn/Quality Inn and Suites) since the prices are so much lower, but I'm always deterred by the idea of walking up and over the I-5 overpass at night, particularly across the off-ramp (I've been in many an Uber/Lyft ride where the drivers have just whipped around that right turn off the freeway). With that said, it would be a quick Uber/Lyft ride in the southern direction, but going north would be a couple of U-turns from the Harbor Blvd drop-off/pick-up.

Thanks! We are really looking forward to the trip. We are definitely walkers, but are also fully aware that Disney days are our heaviest walk days of the year!

I think someone else said it was 10 minutes. I agree that it's a long walk after a full day. My guess is we walk there and Uber back.

Thanks for all the advice. We decided to book it since it cost so much less than the other hotels. We will use the money saved for Ubers!

It might be doable in 10 minutes if you are Usain Bolt. The walk to the Four Points on the corner of Ball and Harbor is easily 15-20 minutes and you'd still have to cross Ball to get to the Solara. I wouldn't plan on doing that walk.

When they say 10 mins. or 1 mile they don't usually mean from the gates, they usually mean from the perimeter somewhere, which is "technically" from Disbeyland
