SNL 50th Should Be Epic!

It was interesting that they pulled a Jonas Brother into one of the skits instead of the musical guest.

I didn't stay until the end, but saw a clip of him awkwardly walking off stage after. Wallen seems like an odd dude.

Mega talented,but strange dude indeed.

Seems to always be "on the edge" of destroying his career permanently.

Probably in a bad way right now:

Current score:Houston 19/Tennessee 6.

Honestly never heard of him. Google reminded me of story about him (heard story didn't know person) of when SNL un-invited him in 2020. Not sure why they bothered asking him back ~ there are WAY TOO many talented folks who would love to be on SNL.

Haven't finished watching the show, but fast forwarded through the first musical part. Not a country fan or fan of him at all.

We record and watch later .... a plus of that is fast forwarding through music genre I don't like. ;)

I went back and watched the show close again.

Mikey and Wallen were WAY out in front of the Cast all by themselves.

I don't think I have ever seen that before- everyone is always "together" on the stage.

Don't know what to read into that if anything.

I see that is being discussed around the internet so it's not just you who noticed. Has to make you wonder how he behaved all week with the cast that they chose to take a step back away from the front.

Note: The excuse now out there is he walking in and out the same direction at practice all week so claims to be doing what he's supposed to do ...... yeah, okay, but you stay with the cast until the cameras turn off then you can exit the way you came in. Actions speak louder than words.

He was pretty awkward in the promos too - he barely said anything. I dunno - he seems like a strange dude, but I agree that it seems like he just didn't want to be there. If that's the case, then why do the show at all?

Personally I think people (the press; whatever) are making a Mountain out of a Molehill. So he's a tad awkward and wanted to get back to watch his Tennessee Vols. He hadn't planned them being in the Elite 8.

Maybe, but it feels like he could have just said that. He could have been gracious and then said, "I gotta run to see the game - go Vols!" People could relate to that.

Sorry, he is a live stage entertainer as a guest on a live stage show ... he knows better .... he could have waited the maybe 5 minutes at most to do the cast interaction then walked off when the cameras stopped. You agree to be on a show, you follow it through to the end.

The thought that 5 minutes would make a difference to catching his private jet ... to go watch a college team (where he did not go to college) is not an excuse. I don't care that he is "awkward" he is a live stage entertainer. He is a professional. He KNOWS better. Yet he chose to be rude.

And it's not like he hasn't constantly gotten into trouble for his behavior so in that regard being rude is the least of them.

No, you're definitely right. It seems like he just didn't want to do the show at all - so, then why do it? My suggestion that he say that he wanted to get to the game would actually eat the time, make him look more gracious and relatable, and be an entertaining anecdote for Vols fans - which is what it should be about. He sure isn't helping his image here.

I think it would have blown over as bucking tradition without negativity, if he didn't write immediately after "get me to God's country". That comment sounded like maybe he didn't enjoy his time there because it was godless. So that combined with walking off stage in a hurry makes people speculate, which I think is fair. And I say that as someone who listen's to God's Country by Blake Shelton all the time lol

The only thing I know of Wallen is that he recently threw a chair off a roof of a high rise and I think it almost hit someone so he was charged, it just seems to be a pattern of odd behavior. I don't listen to his music, not my taste so my instances to form an opinion of him is limited. But maybe both are just unfortunate coincidences, who knows.

He thinks he is entitled to do what he wants so leaving the show early was what he felt like doing.

The reason for his appearance was to promote his upcoming album release-both songs were from the new album.

His vibes all week were he didn't want to be there so I'm guessing his Management talked him into it.

He almost hit a Policeman which could have killed or seriously injured him.

He never seems to "grow up" so would not be
surprised if he does destroy his Career at some point.

Very true. :thumbsup2
