Ugh!

I would appreciate a pizza box and a 2 liter of soda that didn't smell like smoke. :furious:

The guy pulls up and I could hardly see him, his car was so full of smoke.

GROSS! YUCK! Disgusting!

:furious:

I couldn't agree more. People who drive nicotine machines shouldn't be making deliveries of any type.

Yeah, there should be rules against that. Here in NY, you can't smoke in a restaurant, so you shouldn't have to deal with the smokiness of delivered food.

I know, I know, it's the delivery guy's own car and he should be able to do what he wants in his own car and all that - BUT not while working - it's just kinda gross.

I did call. The Dominos Manager said they aren't supposed to smoke while working. I'm not sure if that is true or not.

It just really irks me.

ew, yuck! Kinda ruins the yumminess of the pizza, huh?

They should have offered something.

If it were me, I wouldn't be ordering from there again.

I've had Pizza Hut the last two times and usually Papa John's---never had a problem with smokey cars.

I guess they are too busy making pizzas to notice how awful the driver smells of smoke to get a clue.

I would also call to complain. I've never had that problem. I always assumed they weren't allowed to smoke around the food. Hopefully the guy will get "reminded" not to smoke when he's got pizzas in the car.

Yep, I agree a smoked pizza is gross,
but dead bodies are worse! :smokin:... :scared:

Man Delivers Pizzas, Corpses In Same Vehicle
Driver No Longer Has Either Job

April 28, 2006

FEASTERVILLE, Pa. -- A pizza deliveryman stopped by police told officers that he was delivering pizzas in the same station wagon he used to ferry bodies for a mortuary transport service.

Police said 24-year-old William Bethel Jr. was stopped last Friday in suburban Philadelphia driving a station wagon with an expired inspection certificate. While checking the vehicle, police noticed a stretcher in the rear and asked what purpose it served.

Police said Bethel told them that although he was delivering pizzas for a major pizza chain, he also "transports deceased bodies in the same vehicle." The car was impounded and Bethel was cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license and without a certificate of inspection.

Bethel said it was the first time the vehicle had been used for both purposes. He said he had been called to fill in at the restaurant, and because his car was in the shop, he had taken the wagon. The car owner said he was fired and the restaurant manager said he resigned.

County and state health officials said there is no law against delivering a body and food in the same vehicle.

I doubt that there's any way for the pizza places to enforce a no-smoking during delivery rule. You can call and complain but I really wonder how much difference that will make.

All I can say is how Gross!!

If you are complaining about how your food is delivered, then why not just go pick it up? :confused3

I'm not saying that I don't understand why it bothers you, since obviously it does (you started a thread about it). So just go get it yourself, or don't tip the guy, or order from someone else.

I don't understand why this couldn't be enforced. If you have several compaints about a driver then they're gone.

I'm with you... except, I would have rejected the pizza.

Im with you!

Can I add to the list the UPS driver? While I dont normally what he brings ( although sometimes I do, if its a product to test) It irks me to no end to have stinky boxes sitting in my office and there is really no way to get the smell out of brochures to hand to clients.
blech!

Try to contact the franchisee or at least someone beyond the shift manager. What he/she will do is just say, "Hey, Bob. Somebody complained about your order tonight. Don't do it again." then forget about it and the franchisee/ general manager will probably never hear about it.

Or call corporate. The Big Three (Domino's, PJ's and Pizza Hut) probably don't want to risk losing you to the competition.

I agree about going to pick it up yourself but not tipping the guy who is paying for his/her own gas to bring you a pizza is wrong.

Just an FYI. I did not tip the guy. I usually tip for good service (I am an extremely good tipper!!)

I couldn't pick up the pizza because my DD was sleeping.

Tipping is for good service...And receiving stinky pizza and pop is not good service...
And if the manager was speaking the truth when he said that they should not be smoking than delivery boy was breaking the rules = not good service...

And saying that the OP should pick it up is kind of silly...If a place offers delivery than they should get delivery without problems...
