Some families, or friend groups, are so fun with the creative games they play when they celebrate Christmas. I manage a doctor’s office and our patients are always telling me of the fun games they play. There are some families, like mine, that don’t play games, nobody but my DD21 and I would enjoy it. So how about your family or friends……

Do you play games when you celebrate Christmas?
if yes…..is it with family or friends?
(multiple choice)

For Me…….As I mentioned above, no games for us :sad2:, my family has no desire to play games - it’s a bummer. I’d love to play fun games on Christmas Day.

No games ....usually movies. But....this year it will depend after presents are opened. DGS is getting games, and he loves card and board games,
Never mind, it won't happen. The grandkids are both getting scooters, so I think they will be out riding those.

We do play a lot of board games, just not Christmas games of any kind.

We have played many games over the years. Big one at Christmastime is Hearts. We play Euchre all the time with my middle DS and DIL. Other favorites are Triopoly, Taboo, Scattegories, Uno Attack, Exploding Kittens, "Quarters" and Catchphrase to name a few.

We're definitely a game playing family. :santa:

:confused3 I’m not sure what exactly is meant by “Christmas Party” games. We very often play card or board games whenever we get together but there’s nothing that’s specifically reserved for Christmas.

Last year I went to a Christmas party that had a few games. It was really fun - the one I liked the best was that we all got a Christmas person or animal taped to our back and we had to ask questions to try and figure out who we were. There was a huge range of things from Santa to Rudolph to the Wisemen.

I've watched several videos online recently too of families playing different holiday games that looked fun.

My family and friends are not game players so I feel confident there won't be any games at our christmas get-togethers.

My husband's family is more into games and it's not uncommon to break out trivial pursuit or have a Wii Bowling tournament at a family get-together including Christmas, but nothing like the "christmas games" I've seen on Instagram, etc, However, MIL often plans an activity after dinner -- something like a holiday word find or a dice-rolling build-a-snowman game (roll a 2 to add the hat, roll a 3 to add an arm, etc.) but not games like the ones I’m seeing online.

For party games, we don't necessarily play special holiday games. We usually play a board game or last year we started having a gingerbread house building contest.

My siblings wanted to pare down the number of gifts that are exchanged this year, so we are no longer buying aunt/uncle gifts and "kids" will be cut off at college graduation, so there are only 3 gifts for them that I need to buy. The "kids" are going to have a white elephant gift exchange, too.

With the time we're buying back, we are going to play a trivia game that is for all ages. It sounds like fun!

We have brought out instruments in the past, when the kids were HS age and learning them. They'd have a concert for us with my Dad, who would bring out his accordion.

No games here. We watch holiday movies instead. There has to be at least one version of A Christmas Carol (I like the musical Scrooge the best myself) but other than that the movie selection varies.

No Christmas games here. In the past when we were growing up and all of the relatives got together, we would mostly chat, exchange gifts and eat. The Christmas Eve party would rotate each year to a different relative's house. The size of the group and the age ranges never made trying to play any sort of games practical and there was already enough going on.

One adult ds bought Pie Face as a joke for another one and even their dogs love trying to get the whipped cream, so now it’s become a tradition. 7 people and 2 dogs.

My friend always hosts a Christmas party and does the Dirty Santa/White Elephant game. It was this past Saturday. I always struggle to find a good gift, but this year I was in a Barnes and Noble and they had pre-wrapped gifts at different price points - all shapes and sizes. Even I didn't know what it was! I liked that because it was one less decision for me to make.

We have 25 family members at our Christmas gathering, and we always play a white elephant game. When my Mom was alive there would also be a time of euchre playing, and our 20-year old grandson wants to resurrect that tradition this year. And we will have a few board games available for anyone who wants to play. We have dinner at noon. Everyone brings a dish or two to share. And I plan to make up a few snacks to bring out during game playing time. We may have a TV set up and a DVD player for Christmas movies for the 3 great grandchildren ( ages 9, 7 and 5). Always look forward to our family time❤️

The weekend before Xmas our elves always setup “the elf Olympics”. It’s a series of games/activities that the whole family competes in and there are prizes (brought by the elves of course). In the past we’ve had reindeer antler ring toss, see who can wrap the fastest, throw “snow balls” to knock down snow men, cookie decorating contests, pin the nose on Rudolph, use candy canes to pick up things etc. There’s usually 5-6 games per “Olympics” and this is something even our jaded older teens look forward to lol. It’s hard to try to think of new games each year though, but it’s fun.

No games. If it's on (I think TBS), we play A Christmas Story for a few hours.

But this year there are some NFL games (Netflix), so that might get some viewing.

We usually play some sort of games during Christmas get togethers. With my MIL, we usually play some sort of card game. On my side of the family, my brother or our boys usually get some new game that a number of us play when we get together for our family Christmas (usually a few days before or after Christmas).
