slo’s THURSDAY 1/2 poll - Holiday Gift Returns 🎁

I voted "other". Too soon to tell. Gifts were opened on Christmas, but are still under the tree and will remain there until the tree comes down sometime after the epiphany on January 6th. Actually, checking my wife's calendar, decoration takedown is scheduled for January 7th. Of course, outdoor decorations coming down will be dependent on the weather.

No returns here. No clothes for gifts and nothing was broken.

I INTENDED to. DMIL was here with DSIL. DMIL needed new black velvet pants with an elastic waistband. Found one at Chico and one at Kohls. Gave them both to her, saying that we'd return the one she liked least.

She didn't try them on while she was here and she said she'd handle the return when she got home if she decides to take one back. Meaning SHE'LL get the credit for the return. I didn't budget for two pairs of pants for her.

Well, a “gift” was sort of returned. To us. DW had gift bags made up for various family members. We gave one to her cousin the day after Christmas. We saw him again yesterday and he said he found an opened box of Christmas cards inside the gift bag.

He thought it was maybe a gag or a gift card was inside the box, but no. We’re guessing the cat knocked the box of cards off of the coffee table into his gift bag.

No returns here. DH and I and I only get gifts from our parents and we create amazon wishlists and email any other options (at their request) to keep it easy. Actually, my brother and SIL do get us a gift but we won't see them until Sunday to exchange and they are pretty good gift givers so I don't anticipate a return.

Our nephew(DH's side, almost 5 yrs old) does go shopping at Five Below to pick out a gift for me and DH. This is the second year he shopped on his own and the results are hilarious. I got a hot pink hello kitty ball (which will be regifted to our niece on my side).

No, no returns planned for me. I try to find new homes for anything I don’t need or can’t use.

My daughter and my son's fiancee give me the best gifts. My daughter drew pictures of our last three homes and had the pictures stacked and framed. It's stunning. She also bought me a beautiful Lululemon sweater that fits me perfectly. My almost daughter in law manages a medi spa and gifted me with many skincare products that I love that would normally cost thousands. I gave the girls Johnny Was blankets that they both loved, Blissy silk pillowcases and gift cards.

I bought my son an airfryer that is too tall for his appliance drawer so he's asked for the receipt to return it. Thanks for the reminder. Both sons and daughter's boyfriend were given gift cards to their favourite stores plus new Ridge wallets, scarves, hats etc. I find the men harder to buy for.

Next year there will be no presents except stockings as we take the family to Maui every second Christmas.

I bought a 55” tv 4 days before Christmas, guess what the kids bought us? Fortunately they spent a lot more. Amazon picked up the one I bought from our porch, very easy.
