I stopped sending cards when I got Covid in 2020. Most people we sent cards to also stopped. We sill get a few though, but mostly from businesses.

Sending cards and letters is really the only way I can stay in contact with many of my friends. They don't have access to electronic forms of communication so the US mail is the only way to communicate. Well, unless I go on a trip to see them in person.

I've sent cards and letters and have received cards and letters to and from all of them for the holiday season. As a matter of fact, this reminds me I need to go buy some more stamps. :)

For the last 28 years or so, I’ve sent out cards (about 120). This year, not only do I not have a picture of the kids together (they’re 21, 21, 23, 26 and 28, they actually like doing the card), my address labels were on our old desktop, which officially died. Might do one for facebook.

I haven't started Christmas cards this year. I've been behind on everything since before Thanksgiving and been playing catch up ever since. We receive less and less cards every year and I shorten my list every year too. I will send cards to friends and family that live out of state from me. Used to do about 50+ now it will probably be less than 10.

I sent out 50 cards. My daughter loves to design our card every year. We have done Christmas Vacation, Ted Lasso, Die Hard, The Oregon Trail and this year she made our card look like a linked in page. I love to send out cards and while we receive fewer each year I hang them up in our kitchen. It is a tradition I will continue to do.

I haven’t done cards in about 10 years. I stopped because we didn’t have many to send to and we received very few. I remember my mom used to spend hours preparing tons of cards for mailing but I don’t think we ever sent more than 20. I just can’t see spending the money. We just put something out on social media and we’re done.

Canada Post is on strike so nope. No mail for the last month.
Usually I've been sending cards only to my (and husband's) elderly aunts/uncles.

My cards from Shutterfly arrive today! I usually have them sent out by now, but oh well. The amount of cards has drastically dwindled over the years. Used to be around 125, now it is 50.

We don't receive as many because most of our family members don't send out cards, but I send them one.

I only mail a few out these days, people who are a distance away and I won’t see over the holidays. A few others I hand to the recipients. And there are some email or text people too.

Overall I use way fewer cards than I used to.

As I mentioned before, we moved over the summer from Chicagoland to Florida. I sent out Halloween and Thanksgiving cards to a large group of family/friends and, after about 25 years of not having any kind of card/contact list, I put one together. I've got all of the ingredients (cards/addresses/stamps) and will write them on the plane flying to Chicago on Sunday morning.

Way back in the day I used to send out over 100 cards a year, then I was really strict about removing names from the list when I didn't get a card. If I did that now I'd only be sending out about 20 cards in a good year. I was down to 40, but have added names recently as I've reconnected with people after COVID, and I now send out about 60.

I think that was the demise, yes. Social media has made us all less social.

This is the first year I’m unlikely to send any. My list has shrunk drastically over the past 10 years and it was down to just a few elderly relatives. But even they stopped sending cards and I doubt they’d notice nor care if I stopped as well.

I always send them, usually the first weekend in December. This year, I'm letting it go for the year since we have so much going on with my dad's health. I may send a few to older aunts who I know appreciate it. Factoring in the cost of postage as well it gets out of control. I really do enjoy seeing the photo cards so I will miss that because I know a lot of people only send when they receive. I may send happy new year cards if I have some time to a few special people to change things up.

DIsagree.
Example - I use to get a card once a year from my cousin. Now I see her life updates and communicate with her on FB. I see her kids growing up with several updates a year on FB rather than one school picture in card..

It's actually made me MORE social as I have more contact with people who live far away.

Marie sends out maybe 10 or so. Used to be maybe 50 or more. The ones I like to get are the now popular family picture cards. Nice to see friends and family growing up, changing over the years.

Enjoy your flight for your Christmas trip back "home".

Nope, gave them up several years back. Now that most of the aunts and uncles have either passed or no longer have the ability to send cards we don't get too many.

I mailed out 60 cards and will probably get about 20-25 in return. I am thinking about not doing them next year though because the cost of the cards and postage is really starting to add up.
